March 7th Enhancements Notification
Important Information For TeamSideline Customers
TeamSideline will implement the first 2023 Release of system enhancements this Tuesday night, March 7th. If you have any feedback, please email bruce@teamsideline.com. If you have questions about how something is done, please email support@teamsideline.com.
Camp Registration
We are rolling out an initial version of Youth Camp Registration to make it easier to have signups for youth programs such as camps or clinics. If you are interested in exploring if this new program type will work for you, please email bruce@teamsideline.com
Practice Schedule Changes Auto Emails
Today when you have the Premium upgrade, you can configure your Site to automatically send communications to impacted Teams when you make a Game Schedule change or cancellation. In this release, we are implementing the same functionality for Practice Schedule changes. When impacted Teams are opted in for text communications they will receive a text in addition to an email describing the change. If Notifications are enabled on the TeamSideline App, impacted Teams will get a Notification on their phones.
Game Schedule Refinements
Many schedulers find it more efficient to manage game changes by using a game number. Using game numbers means coaches and others can refer to a specific game number (regarding a change or cancellation or anything else) instead of “the game between the Red Sox and White Sox on March 3rd”. In this release you can now show the game number on schedules and then use the Game Dashboard report to quickly find games and go directly to that game on the 4 Create Schedule page.
Also when creating game schedules, you will now be able to filter for a specific team – if you are not sure how many games they have per week or at certain times, etc. Look for the Team filter on the 4 Create Schedule page.
Coaches Inputting Stats – Extended to Playoff Games
The Premium site option for coaches to login and post their stats has now been extended to include all playoff games. The coaches will go to your site, login, click on their team’s name under the Team Information column, and then once their team has been populated to a playoff game, they can click the edit icon for the game and input the requested stats.
Officials Module Updates
We’ve added a few changes to the Officials Module in this release.
- The Officials Batch Report page enables you to know how much to pay Officials. There is also an Officials Batch Report Export that like the Batch Report page enables you to get an Excel file version of the totals to pay each Official for each period you have chosen to mark as a payment period “Batch”. Now they said it couldn’t be done but it’s here – there is now an Officials Batch Detail Report Export so you can export the line-item game-by-game detail comprising each payment Batch for any official(s). Very exciting! (if you’re in Finance).
- If you would like your officials to be able to see the coaches’ names for their games, go to Schedules > Officials Management > Configurations and update the Show Teams Contacts field to show just the name or to show both the name and their contact information (email and phone number).
Page Content Editing Keeps Getting Easier
Last release we told you about the new inline editing feature. Now we are expanding it to some of our public standard pages – the Donations, Store, Schedules, and Sponsors pages. To use this new feature, go to Content > Configurations > General and change Enable Edit Links to Yes. Now if you are logged in as an admin and are on one of these public pages, you will see an edit icon appear on the left of the page when you are hovering over the page. Click that edit icon and go straight to Content > Page Edit to make your page adjustments.
Membership Module Updates
The Membership Module has been updated to better communicate to admins and end customers when memberships have been renewed or when they have not been able to be renewed. Configured admins will receive the emails directly or the emails can be reviewed at Communications > Communication Logs > System Log – look for Membership Renewal Notice and Membership Renewal Failure.
Reporting Updates
We’ve made a few reporting changes to help make the reports work more efficiently for our admins.
- All “date” fields are defined as date fields vs text fields. This will help you be able to sort them in excel very easily.
- For the TeamSideline Game Card (under Reports > Report Viewer), you can now select by a date range.
UserWay and ADA Compliance
More and more states are enacting laws that require websites to be ADA compliant. We have created a linkage to UserWay.org and this article - https://support.teamsideline.com/hc/en-us/articles/11619376551067 - will give you the steps to get started.
There are three levels of compliance – A, AA, and AAA. TeamSideline will be focusing on the A and AA issues identified on our sites and making changes so our sites will not have these issues anymore. If you also want to address the AAA issues, then you will need to consider upgrading your UserWay account to one of their "paid for" options.
Please note that the downtime period to enable these enhancements will be from 10:00pm – 1:00am (Pacific) on Tuesday night, March 7th.
Thank you for using TeamSideline!
