To see whether TeamSideline is down or has planned maintenance, go to status.teamsideline.com, or click Help > System Status in TeamSideline's menu. The status page shows any outage TeamSideline is working on and any maintenance it has scheduled, with updates until each one is over.
Applies to: Admins, coaches, parents and players · All plans · Admin site, organization sites and Team Sites
Where: status.teamsideline.com; Help > System Status in the menu of the admin site, and of your organization's site or a Team Site once you've signed in
Check the status page
- Go to https://status.teamsideline.com. Or, in TeamSideline's menu, click Help, then System Status. The status page opens in a new tab.
- Look for an incident or a scheduled maintenance, and read its latest update.
- If nothing is posted and TeamSideline still isn't working for you, see If it doesn't work, below.
TeamSideline's error page ("You Have Encountered an Error") has a System Status button, and the page shown while TeamSideline is offline links the status page too.
What you'll see: an incident or scheduled maintenance
- Incident: an unplanned problem, such as TeamSideline being down or very slow for everyone, or one service, such as card payments or emails, failing for everyone. TeamSideline posts it once the problem is confirmed and updates it as the work goes on, usually through Investigating, Identified, Monitoring and Resolved. TeamSideline already knows about a posted incident, so you don't need to open a ticket about it: follow its updates.
- Scheduled maintenance: planned work, such as a release of new features, posted ahead of time with its date and its start and end times. While it's in progress, TeamSideline is offline: you can't sign in, register or pay, and pages may show "TeamSideline is temporarily offline."
When releases usually happen
TeamSideline's releases usually take place in the evening, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM Pacific time. Each one is posted on the status page as scheduled maintenance, and that post has the exact date and times. Other planned work, such as a system update, is announced the same way.
Before planned maintenance, TeamSideline also shows a notice about it when you sign in to the admin site, your organization's site or a Team Site, and admins see it at the top of Home. If a registration deadline or another time-sensitive task falls inside the window, plan around it: nobody can register while TeamSideline is offline.
Get status updates
To hear about incidents and maintenance without checking the page, subscribe to updates on the status page (for example, by email). You're then told when TeamSideline posts an incident or a scheduled maintenance, when it updates one and when it's resolved.
If it doesn't work
- "TeamSideline is temporarily offline." Scheduled maintenance or an outage is in progress. Check the status page for its updates and try again once it's over.
- "You Have Encountered an Error" This page usually means your session expired, you tried something that isn't allowed, or the page doesn't exist. Sign in again and retry. If it keeps happening, contact Support with the steps that lead to it.
- Nothing is posted, but TeamSideline won't load for you. Try another browser or a private window, then another network, such as your phone's mobile data. If it loads there, the problem is with your device or network, not TeamSideline.
- TeamSideline loads at home or on your phone, but not on your organization's computers. Your organization's network (a firewall, web filter, proxy or security software) is probably blocking it. Ask your organization's IT team to allow TeamSideline's sites, such as teamsideline.com.
- An access-denied or 403 Forbidden page on one network, while other networks work. TeamSideline's security protection may be blocking that network. Contact Support with the error, the time it happened and the network you were on; Support may ask for that network's public IP address. Support can have the block lifted.
- Only your organization's website or custom domain won't load. That isn't a TeamSideline-wide problem, so it isn't posted on the status page. Work through Why isn't my website loading? (custom domain or site down).
When to contact Support
Contact TeamSideline Support when TeamSideline isn't working and the status page shows nothing, when a problem continues after its incident is marked Resolved, or when only your organization's site or domain is affected.
- Admins: click Help > Contact Support in the admin site's menu, which opens TeamSideline's support request form, or email support@teamsideline.com.
- Parents, players and coaches: questions about registration, teams or schedules go to your organization, through its Contact Us page (Help > Contact Us once you've signed in to its site). To report a problem with TeamSideline itself that the status page doesn't show, email support@teamsideline.com.
Include what you were doing and what happened, the page's address, the exact message or a screenshot that shows the address bar, when it happened, your browser or device, and whether it works on another browser, device or network.
Good to know
- The status page covers TeamSideline as a whole. A problem with one organization's website, domain or setup isn't posted there.
- Planned maintenance is announced ahead of time, on the status page and in a notice when you sign in. An incident is posted once a problem is confirmed, so one that has just started may not show yet.
- Times in TeamSideline's maintenance notices are Pacific time.
