AI Playbook is the AI assistant built into your organization's admin site. Click the AI Playbook tab on the right edge of any admin page to ask how to do something in TeamSideline or to look up your organization's own programs, leagues, schedules and customer accounts. If it can't solve your problem, it offers to open a support ticket for you.
Applies to: Org admins · Organizations where TeamSideline has turned on AI Playbook · Admin site
Where: The AI Playbook tab on the right edge of every admin page
How to use it
- Click AI Playbook on the right edge of the page.
- Type your question in the box ("Ask the AI Playbook a question...") and press Enter or click Send.
- Read the answer. To rate it, click the thumbs-up ("This helped") or thumbs-down ("This didn't help") under it.
- Ask follow-up questions in the same conversation. The conversation stays open as you move between admin pages.
- To close the panel, click ×, click outside the panel or press Esc. To start a new conversation, click Start over (the circular arrow to the left of the message box).
What it can help with
- How-to and feature questions. It answers from TeamSideline's Help Center articles and in-app help, and from TeamSideline's support knowledge: documented solutions and resolved support questions. When an answer comes from a Help Center article, it usually links to it.
- Your organization's own data. It can look up your programs (registration status, offerings and enrollment counts), leagues and divisions, team and division schedules (including why a schedule isn't showing on your public site), and customer accounts (enrollments, memberships, suspensions, volunteer shifts, reservations, transactions and payment plans). These lookups are read-only and show only what your admin role lets you see in TeamSideline.
- Website questions for the editor your organization uses, the legacy content editor or Editor 2.0. If your organization has both, it asks which one you mean first.
- Step-by-step help with the admin screens and menus to use.
What it can't do
- Change anything in TeamSideline. It only reads. For now.
- Show or discuss another organization's data.
- Quote TeamSideline prices or make billing or account changes. It offers a support ticket instead.
- Give legal, financial, tax or medical advice.
- Browse other websites.
- Log a feature request itself. It offers a support ticket so the TeamSideline team can log it.
Conversation limit and support tickets
- A conversation can have 10 questions. After the tenth answer you see "Conversation limit reached (10 turns). Click ↺ to start a new chat.", the message box is turned off, and you're offered a ticket.
- When it can't fully resolve your question, or you ask for a person, it shows "It looks like I wasn't able to fully resolve this. Want me to open a support ticket with our team?" with the email address the team will reply to, and two buttons: Yes, open a ticket and No thanks.
- Yes, open a ticket sends your whole conversation to TeamSideline support, so you don't have to repeat yourself. You'll see "Ticket #(number) created — our team will follow up at (your email). This conversation is now closed; click ↺ to start a new one."
- No thanks hides the offer, and you can keep asking until you reach 10 questions.
If it doesn't work
- "The AI assistant is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a few minutes." The AI service didn't answer. That question doesn't count toward your 10, so try again, or accept the offer "I couldn't reach the AI service to answer this. Want me to open a support ticket with our team instead?"
- "Sorry — I couldn't create the ticket", followed by a reason. The ticket wasn't created. Click Yes, open a ticket again, or contact TeamSideline support directly.
- The message box is grayed out. You've asked 10 questions or opened a ticket. Click Start over.
- There's no AI Playbook tab. TeamSideline turns AI Playbook on for each organization, and it isn't on for yours. Contact TeamSideline support.
- It says it can't look something up. Lookups show only what your admin role allows. Ask an admin with more access, or let AI Playbook open a ticket.
Good to know
- Answers are AI-generated. As the note under the chat says: "AI-generated for guidance. Verify before relying on it."
- The AI Playbook tab stays on the right edge of admin pages, and you can't move or hide it, but you can close the chat panel at any time. On a phone, the tab is smaller.
- In its answers, AI Playbook may call itself the TeamSideline Assistant.
- TeamSideline keeps a record of each conversation and your thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings.
- For organizations with AI usage policies: AI Playbook uses established AI models (including OpenAI and Anthropic) to answer questions from TeamSideline documentation, resolved support history, and the TeamSideline information about your organization that your admin role can see. It doesn't browse external websites or make changes in your TeamSideline account.
