Missing TeamSideline emails are usually in your spam, junk or promotions folder, or TeamSideline is holding them back because your email address has an email filter, which is added when an email to you bounces, when you unsubscribe or when you mark an email as spam. Check those folders, add no-reply@teamsideline.com to your contacts, and remove any filter from your profile.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and other members · All plans · Emails from your organization and from TeamSideline.com team sites
Where: Your email program; on your organization's website, My Account > My Profile > Email Address (Edit); at TeamSideline.com, your name at the top of the page > Email Address (Edit)
Check your spam, junk and promotions folders
- Search your mailbox for your organization's name or for TeamSideline, including the Spam, Junk, Promotions, Updates and Other folders or tabs.
- If you find a TeamSideline email there, mark it Not spam or Not junk, or move it to your inbox.
- Add no-reply@teamsideline.com to your contacts or safe senders list. If your organization sends from its own web address, add that address instead. The bottom of every TeamSideline email names the address to add: "To ensure delivery to your inbox, please add (address) to your address book."
- In your email settings, remove any rule, filter or blocked sender that moves or deletes TeamSideline emails.
| Email provider | What to check | Provider help |
|---|---|---|
| Gmail | The Spam folder and the Promotions and Updates tabs. Mark the email Not spam, or drag it to Primary. | Gmail Help |
| Outlook.com, Hotmail or Microsoft 365 | The Junk Email folder. Mark the email Not junk and add the sender to Safe senders in your junk email settings. | Microsoft Support |
| Yahoo Mail | The Spam folder. Mark the email Not Spam and add the sender to your contacts. | Yahoo Help |
| Apple iCloud Mail or the Mail app | The Junk folder. Move the email to your inbox and add the sender to Contacts. | Apple Support |
| School or work email | Your organization's own spam filter or firewall may block TeamSideline emails before they reach you. | Ask your IT department to allow no-reply@teamsideline.com. |
Remove an email filter from your address
When your address has a filter, you see this when you sign in on your organization's website: "Your email address is currently not receiving emails. Click My Profile under My Account to make changes to your email address or to remove the filter by clicking the Email Address edit button."
- Sign in on your organization's website.
- Go to My Account > My Profile.
- Click Edit next to your Email Address. The button shows a red flag when your address has a filter.
- In the list of filters (Email Filter, Organization, Created Date), click the red X (Delete) next to the filter.
- Click OK to confirm.
What you'll see: "There are no email filters on your email address." New emails reach you again. Emails that were held back while the filter was on aren't sent again.
At TeamSideline.com, where team sites live, the same message tells you to click your name at the top of the page instead. The Email Address page there lists every filter on your address, for every organization.
Which filter you have
- Bad: an email to your address bounced. If the address is misspelled, correct it first (see the next section), or the next email bounces and the filter comes back.
- Opt Out: someone clicked the unsubscribe link in an email sent to your address. If the link was in your organization's email, only that organization's emails stop. If it was in a TeamSideline.com email, such as a team message or a game reminder, all TeamSideline emails stop, and that filter is listed only on the TeamSideline.com Email Address page.
- Marked As Spam: a TeamSideline email was marked as spam in your email program. Delete the filter, then mark the email Not spam so it doesn't happen again.
Make sure your account has the right email address
TeamSideline emails the address you sign in with, which is shown on My Profile. To change it:
- On My Account > My Profile, click Edit next to your Email Address.
- Click Change Email Address.
- Type the new address in New Email Address and Repeat Email Address, then click Send Confirmation Email.
- Open the email sent to your new address and click the confirmation link.
- Click Confirm.
What you'll see: "Your email address has been successfully changed. Please sign in with your new email address and existing password."
- Two accounts: if the address you want to use already has its own TeamSideline account, for example from a season when you registered with it, don't change to it. Ask your organization to merge the two accounts, so all your emails go to one address.
- A second parent gets nothing: order confirmations and your organization's emails go to each parent or guardian on the account who has an email address. If the other parent isn't on the account, add them as a parent.
Team site emails: roster members and Family & Friends
- Messages a coach sends to the entire team go to the people on the team roster.
- Family & Friends, people a roster member invited from the Family & Friends page, get game reminders and, when your organization sends schedule changes to team rosters, schedule-change emails. They don't get the team's messages. To get everything, ask the coach or your organization to add you to the roster.
- Reminders stop if Receive Reminders is set to Disabled on your My Account page at TeamSideline.com, or if you hid the team on the Teams page (a red eye icon: "Team hidden, click to show").
If it doesn't work
- The red flag came back after you deleted the filter. Another email to your address bounced. Check the address for typos, or ask your email provider why TeamSideline emails are rejected.
- Your order confirmation didn't arrive. Confirmations go to each parent or guardian on the account who has an email address. If your organization placed the order for you, it's sent only if the admin chose to send it. You can see any order at My Account > Order History: click the View Order icon (magnifying glass).
- You still can't find an email. Sign in at TeamSideline.com and go to Communications > Received. It lists every TeamSideline email sent to your address, including emails a filter held back, and you can read them there.
- Nothing above helped. Contact your organization. Its admins can see whether each email was sent to you and whether a filter stopped it, and they can remove a filter for you.
Good to know
- An email filter applies to an email address, not a person. If you share an address with someone else in your family, a filter affects both of you.
- Email filters don't affect text messages.
- To stop getting an organization's emails on purpose, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of one of its emails. To undo it later, delete the Opt Out filter as described above.
