The Site Editor allows you to password-protect individual pages on your TeamSideline website. This is useful when you have information that should only be available to a specific group, such as coaches, board members, or volunteers.
Example: You could create a page with coach resources and require a password before someone can view the page.
1. Open the Site Editor
From your TeamSideline admin site:
- Go to your Admin Site Map
- Select Site Editor.
- The Site Editor will open in a new window.
2. Select the Page You Want to Protect
Once the Site Editor opens:
- Click Pages on the left side of the screen.
- Find the page you want to password protect.
- Click the gear icon ⚙️ next to the page name to open the page settings.
3. Turn On Password Protection
In the page settings:
- Find the Password Protection section.
- Check the box for Password Protect This Page.
- Enter the password you want visitors to use.
- Click Save.
Tip: Choose a password that is easy for your intended users to enter but isn't something that would be easy for the general public to guess.
4. Publish the Page
Your password protection won't be active on the live website until you publish your changes.
- Click Done or Save to close the page settings.
- Click Publish in the upper-right corner of the Site Editor.
- Confirm the publish when prompted.
5. Test the Password Protection
After publishing:
- Open your TeamSideline website in a new browser window or an Incognito/Private window.
- Go to the page you protected.
- You should see a password prompt instead of the page content.
- Enter the password you created to confirm that the page can be accessed.
Important
Password protection applies only to the page you selected. Other pages on your TeamSideline website will remain publicly accessible.
If you have multiple pages that should be restricted, each page will need to be password protected separately.
Changing or Removing the Password
To change or remove the password later:
- Open Site → Site Editor.
- Click Pages.
- Click the gear icon ⚙️ next to the protected page.
- Update or disable the Password Protection setting.
- Click Save.
- Click Publish to make the change live.
Note: Anyone who has the password can access the protected page. Password protection should be used for general restricted-access content, not for highly sensitive or confidential information.
