On a legacy website, you add each sponsor at Content > Sponsors with its logo and website address, then click its red eye to show it. Visible sponsors are listed on your Sponsors page, a standard page you add to your menu in Site Pages. Sponsors that have a logo and Show on Home Page checked also appear in your home page's Sponsors section.
Applies to: Org admins whose role includes Sponsors · All plans (click counts: Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise) · Legacy content editor
Where: Content > Sponsors; Content > Configurations > Site Pages
Where your sponsors show
- Sponsors page: every visible sponsor, with its logo, name, address and phone number, grouped under category headings if you use categories. The sponsor's name links to its website.
- Home page Sponsors section: the logos of visible sponsors that have a logo and Show on Home Page checked. Each logo links to the sponsor's website.
Step 1: Add a sponsor
- Go to Content > Sponsors and click Add Sponsor.
- In Sponsor Name, type the name visitors will see (up to 50 characters).
- Check Show on Home Page if the logo should also appear on your home page.
- In Category, choose a category, or leave No Category. Categories are optional (Step 2).
- Under Image, click Select and choose the logo file (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP or HEIC, up to 10 MB). Use the rotate and crop buttons above the picture if it needs them. The page notes "Optimal size is 500w x 500h", so a square logo works best.
- In External URL, type the sponsor's website address, such as https://www.example.com. Without it, the logo and name aren't links.
- Fill in any other details you want to keep (see "Which details are public" below).
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "Sponsor has been saved." The sponsor is listed at the end of its category on Content > Sponsors, with a red eye.
- Click the sponsor's red eye so it turns green. A new sponsor stays hidden on your website until you do.
Which details are public
Street Address, City, State, Zip and Phone Number show under the sponsor's name on your Sponsors page. Contact First Name, Contact Last Name, Contact Email Address, About and Notes are for your records: they aren't shown on your website.
Step 2: Group sponsors into categories (optional)
Categories, such as Platinum Sponsors and Gold Sponsors, become headings on your Sponsors page, each with its own logo size.
- On Content > Sponsors, click Categories.
- Click Add Sponsor Category.
- Type the Category Name and choose a Display Size for its logos: Small, Medium or Large.
- Click Add.
- Drag the categories into the order you want on your Sponsors page.
- Put each sponsor in a category: edit the sponsor and choose its Category, or, on Content > Sponsors, drag the sponsor onto a sponsor in that category.
To rename a category or change its Display Size, click its Edit icon (pencil), make the change and click Save. Once you use categories, sponsors without one are listed under a "No Category" heading.
Step 3: Add the Sponsors page to your menu
- Go to Content > Configurations > Site Pages.
- Right-click Menu Pages, or the page group (drop-down menu) the page should go in.
- Point to Add Standard Page and click Sponsors. The page is added at the end of that group.
- Drag it where you want it in your menu.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "The changes to your menus have been saved." Your menu has a Sponsors tab that opens your Sponsors page. To rename the tab, double-click it in Site Pages and save again.
Step 4: Show sponsor logos on your home page
- Go to Content > Configurations > Home Page Layout. If Sponsors isn't listed under Home Page Item, click Add Component, choose Sponsors in Component and click Add. Drag it where you want it on the page.
- On Content > Sponsors, check that each sponsor you want there has a logo, a green eye and a checked box (Toggle Show on Home Page). Click the box to turn it on or off.
- Optional: on Content > Configurations > General, under Sponsors Gadget, choose a Style (Icons shows all the logos at once; Rotator shows them in a moving carousel) and type a Title to show above the logos in the Icons style, or leave it blank to hide it. Click Save.
Manage your sponsors
- Edit: click a sponsor's Edit icon (pencil), change it and click Save.
- Hide or show: click the eye. A green eye shows the sponsor; a red eye hides it on both the Sponsors page and the home page.
- Reorder: drag sponsors up or down. Your website shows them in this order within each category.
- Delete: click the red X and confirm.
- Clicks: on Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise, the Clicks column counts the visits to each sponsor's website from your Sponsors page and from home page logos shown in the Icons style.
If it doesn't work
- "Sponsor Name is required." Type the sponsor's name and save again.
- "Invalid Contact Email Address." Correct the address (the message may suggest one) or leave the field empty.
- "Category Name is required." Type a name before you click Add.
- A sponsor doesn't show anywhere. Its eye is red: click it so it turns green. New sponsors start hidden.
- A sponsor is on your Sponsors page but not on your home page. It needs a logo and Show on Home Page checked, and Home Page Layout needs the Sponsors section.
- Sponsors disappeared from your Sponsors page after you deleted a category. Edit each of them and choose another category or No Category. Before you delete a category, move its sponsors out of it.
- Sponsors isn't in the Add Standard Page list. The page is already in your menu, maybe under another name. Look for it in Site Pages.
- "You cannot add this tab here because the menu doesn't support more then three levels." Right-click a higher level, such as Menu Pages, instead.
- The logo or name doesn't open the sponsor's website. Add the address in External URL.
- The Clicks column is empty. Click counts are shown on Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise.
- Your website uses Editor 2.0. Content > Sponsors feeds only a legacy website: see the CMS sponsors article below.
Good to know
- Show on Home Page used to be called Highlight, and the tip beside the box still uses that name.
- To show text above your sponsors on the Sponsors page, choose Sponsors Page - Header Section in Content > Page Edit. If it isn't in the list, TeamSideline Support can add it.
- About isn't shown on your website, so a legacy website can't show a description beside each logo.
- Logos of a similar shape and size line up best.
- To mention a sponsor in a page's text or a News Item, link its name to the sponsor's website with the editor's link tool.
- If Sponsor Detail is in your list at Reports > Report Exports, it exports the sponsors you enter here, with their details and Click Count. It doesn't list sponsorships bought through registration.
- Selling sponsorships, such as sponsor levels that families or businesses pay for, is a separate task: see the related article below.
