To enter a team in a Team Registration plus Roster program, register the team on your organization's website, then open it under Manage Rosters and click Add to Roster to invite each player. Each player gets an email invitation and completes their own registration, and you click Submit once enough players have enrolled.
Applies to: Team managers · Organizations on the Enhanced, Elite or Enterprise plan · Team Registration plus Youth Roster Registration and Team Registration plus Adult Roster Registration programs
Where: Your organization's website > (program) > Enroll; then, signed in, Manage Rosters > (your team)
Step 1: Register your team
- On your organization's website, find the program and click Enroll (your organization may use a different button name). Sign in, or create an account, when asked.
- On the Add Items To Your Cart page, choose yourself as the Enrollee and General as the Enrollment Type, then the Program and the Offering, such as your team's age group or division. If I would like to appears, choose Enroll in a Program first.
- In adult roster programs you may see Incl. Player Registration ("Register team and as a player"). Choose Yes to register yourself as a player on the team too, or No if you won't play.
- Click Add Enrollment, then Proceed to Checkout.
- Complete each page, including your Team Name, and pay any team fee. Your registration is finished when you see the Order Confirmation page.
What you'll see: you're on the team's roster as its Manager, and the team appears under Manage Rosters in the menu on the left when you're signed in. If your organization requires a background check for team managers, the registration also asks for your background check details.
Step 2: Invite your players
- Sign in on your organization's website. Under Manage Rosters, click your team's name.
- Click Add to Roster.
- Enter the First Name and Last Name, choose the Role (Player, or Coach if your organization offers it) and enter the Email. For a youth team, use the email of the parent or guardian who will register the player. Enter the Date of Birth if it's asked for.
- Click Add. Repeat for each player.
What you'll see: each person you add appears on your roster and is emailed an invitation with the subject "Roster Invitation | (organization)". Replies to it come to you. If you registered a team with this organization before, Copy Roster can bring in last season's players.
Step 3: Players accept their invitations
Each player, or the parent of a youth player, does this:
- Click the link in the invitation email.
- Sign in, or create an account, with the email address the invitation was sent to.
- On Add Items To Your Cart, choose the player in Account Name, click Add to Cart, then Proceed to Checkout. A parent whose child isn't in the list clicks Add Enrollee to add the child first.
- Complete each page, such as waivers and payment, until the Order Confirmation page.
What you'll see: a check mark appears in the Enrolled column for that player, and you and the other staff on your roster get an email with the subject "Roster Invitation Accepted | (organization)". Players and coaches who haven't enrolled are sent the invitation again automatically, about 3 days after you add them and once more about 4 days later.
Step 4: Submit your roster
- When enough players have enrolled, open your roster under Manage Rosters.
- Click Submit.
What you'll see: "Your roster has been submitted." and your Roster Status changes to Submitted. Submit stays grayed out until the roster has your organization's minimum number of enrolled players. You can still change the roster afterward, but any change sets it back to Open, so submit again when you're done. Once your organization locks the roster, contact them for changes.
If it doesn't work
- A player registered from the program's Enroll button instead of your invitation. That registers a new team of their own, not a place on yours. Ask your organization to cancel it, then have the player use your invitation.
- Your team isn't under Manage Rosters. Sign in with the account that registered the team. Teams are listed until the day after the program's end date; after that, contact your organization.
- You added players on your Team Site's Roster page. That changes only the team site and sends no invitation. Add players under Manage Rosters on your organization's website. Your organization may also turn off the Team Site's Add To Roster button.
- "The date of birth is not within age requirements for this Offering." The player is outside the age range your organization set. Check the birth date, or contact your organization.
- A player's invitation doesn't arrive or doesn't work. See Team managers: Add to Roster and Submit roster FAQ (Team Registration plus Roster) for each message and how to resend an invitation.
Good to know
- Players can join your team only through your invitation.
- If your organization limits ages, the check uses the Date of Birth you enter when you add the player, so enter it carefully.
- Some programs offer # of Teams on the cart for registering several teams at once. Otherwise, register each team separately.
- On your Team Site's Roster page, a gold lock next to an email means that member has registered a TeamSideline account.
- For a team you created yourself on TeamSideline.com, not through an organization's program, see How to invite parents and players to your standalone team (send the team a Communication).
