A division's schedule stays off your public site until you click its eye icon on Schedules > Leagues & Divisions so it turns green; click it again to hide the schedule. To post only the start of a season, set Show # of Sched. Wks on the division's 1 Configuration > Display page: the public then sees weeks 1 through that number, and the eye turns yellow.
Applies to: Admins and schedulers · All plans (Update Multiple Divisions: Enhanced plan and up) · League and tournament divisions
Where: Schedules > Leagues & Divisions (eye icon); Schedules > Leagues & Divisions > (division) > 1 Configuration > Display (Show # of Sched. Wks)
What the eye colors mean
Each division on Schedules > Leagues & Divisions has an eye icon next to its Edit Division (pencil) icon. Point to the eye to see its tooltip.
| Eye | Tooltip | What the public sees |
|---|---|---|
| Gray | Schedule Not Created | Nothing yet. The division has no regular-season, playoff or practice schedule. |
| Red | Schedule Not Visible - click to make schedule visible on your public page | Nothing. The schedule exists but is hidden. |
| Green | Schedule Visible - click to remove schedule from your public page | The whole schedule. |
| Yellow | Schedule Partially Visible | Only the weeks allowed by Show # of Sched. Wks. |
| Yellow | Schedule Not Visible - click to make schedule visible on your public page | The division's page without its games, because Show Game Section is set to No on 1 Configuration > Display. |
If the division's schedule types include 2nd Half, a second eye controls the 2nd Half schedule. It's gray while the 2nd half is hidden or not created yet, green when it's visible, and yellow when Show Game Section is No.
Show or hide a division's schedule
- Go to Schedules > Leagues & Divisions.
- Find the division in its league's list.
- Click the division's eye icon. A red eye turns green and the schedule appears on your public site. A green or yellow eye turns red and the schedule is hidden.
- For a 2nd Half schedule, click the second eye the same way.
What you'll see: the eye changes color at once. A visible division appears in your public site's list of schedules. A hidden one doesn't, and anyone who opens a saved link to it sees "The League Administrator has de-activated the Standings & Schedule for the Division you have linked to."
Show only the first weeks of a schedule
Use this to post the start of a season while you finish the rest, or to release a few weeks at a time. The count always starts at Week 1, so the setting can't hide the first weeks and show later ones.
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, click the division's Edit Division icon (pencil).
- Click 1 Configuration, then the Display tab.
- Under Display Configurations, choose a number from 1 to 40 in Show # of Sched. Wks. As the note beside it says, "Weeks start with Week 1 of your Schedule." Choose All to show every week.
- Click Save.
- Back on Leagues & Divisions, make sure the division's eye isn't red. If it is, click it.
What you'll see: "Division configuration updated." While the division is visible, its eye is yellow with the tooltip "Schedule Partially Visible", and your public site shows the games in weeks 1 through the number you chose. To release more weeks, raise the number. To show the whole schedule, choose All; the eye turns green.
Set the number of weeks for new divisions
- Go to Schedules > Configurations > Sport Defaults.
- Choose the Sport Type.
- Under Display Configurations, set Show # of Sched. Wks to All or to a number from 1 to 15.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "The division default configuration has been updated." (or "...has been created." the first time you save that sport). Sport Defaults apply only to divisions added after you save, including the divisions Copy Season creates. Existing divisions keep their own setting.
Change many divisions at once
On the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans, use Update Multiple Divisions:
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, click Update Multiple Divisions.
- In Update Type, choose Visibility.
- Under Divisions, tick the divisions to change.
- Set First Half and Second Half to Visible, Not Visible or No Change. First Half is the division's main eye.
- 5. Click Update.
What you'll see: "Multiple divisions have been updated." Divisions that don't have a schedule yet are skipped. To set Show # of Sched. Wks for many divisions, choose the Update Type Configuration instead and set Show # of Sched. Wks (All, or 1 to 15) under Display Configurations.
If it doesn't work
- The eye is gray. The division has no schedule yet. Create it on 4 Create Schedule first (see the first related article).
- Clicking the eye does nothing. Your admin user doesn't have permission to change schedules, so the icon is turned off. Ask an admin who manages users to check your roles, or to change the visibility for you.
- The eye is yellow and its tooltip says "Schedule Not Visible - click to make schedule visible on your public page". Show Game Section is No on the division's 1 Configuration > Display page, so visitors see the division without its games. Set Show Game Section to Yes and click Save. Don't click the eye: that hides the whole division.
- Families see only some of the weeks. Show # of Sched. Wks is set to a number. Change it to All, or to a higher number, and click Save. 4 Create Schedule always shows every week, so check this setting even when the schedule looks complete to you.
- "The League Administrator has de-activated the Standings & Schedule for the Division you have linked to." The link goes to a division whose schedules are all hidden, or to a league that has been archived. Make the division visible, or share a link to a current division.
Good to know
- New divisions start hidden, and so do the divisions that Copy Season and the League Schedules Import create. Creating a schedule doesn't make it visible; the 4 Create Schedule page reminds you to click the visibility icon on Leagues & Divisions.
- The main eye covers the division's regular-season and playoff schedules. The 2nd Half eye covers only the 2nd Half schedule.
- Show # of Sched. Wks also limits the games on your website's calendars and in the division's calendar download. Calendars count playoff games as the weeks after the regular season, so set Show # of Sched. Wks back to All when the playoffs should appear there. The playoff section of the division's standings page isn't limited by the setting.
- Team site calendars leave out a hidden division's games until they have a result.
- Automatic game-change emails (1 Configuration > Communication > On Game Change) go out only for visible schedules.
- Hiding a schedule doesn't change or delete it, and you can make it visible again at any time.
- Show # of Sched. Wks isn't offered for tournament divisions.
