Before your new Editor 2.0 website goes live, review it section by section in the Site Editor: your business details, the theme, your pages and menu, each page's text and pictures, the Contact Us page and SEO. TeamSideline publishes your new website the first time; after that, the changes you make in the Site Editor reach your live website only when you click Republish.

Where: Content > Site Editor
The screenshot shows where you open the editor from the Content menu of your admin site. The menu item is Site Editor.
Before you start
- If you're moving from the legacy content editor, your current website stays live while you review. TeamSideline builds your new website from the template you chose and gives you a preview with edit access, usually for about 10 days before it goes live. Until then, visitors keep seeing your current website, and your other Content menu (Page Edit, Home Page Banner and the rest) still changes it.
- You don't need to do everything at once. Most organizations start with Business Info, the home page and their program pages, then fine-tune the rest over time.
- Use a computer. The Site Editor is built for a laptop or desktop web browser, not a phone or tablet.
Review your new website
- Go to Content > Site Editor. If you see two Content menus, use the one that has Site Editor. The editor opens in the same browser tab.
- In the left sidebar, click CMS, then Business Data > Business Info. Check your business name, logo, business type, address, phone numbers, email addresses and social icons. Your template's pages are connected to these details, so a change here shows everywhere they're used.
- Still in the CMS panel, check Business Images, which holds pictures your template uses, such as the header picture.
- Click Theme (the paint palette icon) and review Site Theme: the colors, button styles and text styles used across your whole website. The template comes with basic theme settings; change them to match your organization's look.
- Click Pages and review your page structure. Drag pages into the menu order you want, and add or remove pages as needed. To add a page, duplicate an existing page, such as Downloads, so the new page keeps the template's header.
- Use the page list at the top left of the editor to open each page in turn, and replace the template's text and pictures with your own. Which pages you have depends on your template, for example League Info and its sub-pages.
- Open your Contact Us page and check it as described under Check your Contact Us page, below.
- Click the SEO/AEO icon (the magnifying glass) and review Page SEO (each page's title and description), Image Alt Text and the Site Audit. See CMS: How to Improve Your Website's Visibility on Google (SEO & AEO Tools).
- Click Preview at the top right, and check your pages in the desktop, tablet and mobile views at the top of the editor.
- Let TeamSideline know when you're ready, or if you need more time before your go-live date.
What you'll see: your changes show in the editor and in Preview as you make them. Visitors don't see your new website until it goes live.
Check your Contact Us page
- Who gets the messages. The contact details shown on the page are for display only. Messages sent with the form go to the Email Address on Communications > Configurations > Contact Us (the default recipient), or, if you add subjects on its Add Contacts tab, to up to five addresses for the subject the visitor picks. That way you can send everything to one general inbox, or each topic to the right person.
- Text from your old website. Your new Contact Us page shows the Custom Text saved on that settings page for your old website. If it shows old wording or stray code, delete it from Custom Page Text there before go-live: once your new website is live, that box no longer appears, and TeamSideline Support has to remove the text for you.
- Name, phone and hours. The Full Name, Telephone and Contact Hours on that settings page don't appear on your new website. Change the contact details your website shows in the Site Editor, in Business Info or on the page itself.
When your new website goes live
- TeamSideline publishes your new website the first time and makes it live. If you use your own domain, TeamSideline points it at the new website. The steps and timeline are in How to move your website to Editor 2.0: steps, timeline and what transfers.
- If you're moving from the legacy content editor, visitors who open a page of your old website are sent to your new website's home page, and Page Edit, Home Page Banner and the other legacy-only Content pages no longer change what visitors see. Calendar, Downloads and Entry Forms are shared by both editors, so changes there still show.
- From then on, click Republish in the Site Editor after you make changes. See CMS: Save, preview and publish your website changes.
If it doesn't work
- Site Editor isn't in your Content menu, or it won't open. See CMS: How to open the Site Editor (and what to do if you can't).
- "Content Site has not been set up." Your new website isn't connected to your admin site yet. Contact TeamSideline Support.
- A detail changed in Business Info but not on one page. That part of the page isn't connected to Business Info. Edit it on the page, or connect it to Business Data. See CMS: Update your organization's name, logo, address, phone and social links (Business Info).
- Part of a page shows View Only. It's locked on purpose, such as the header, the footer or a TeamSideline section. See CMS: Why can't I edit the header, footer or some page text? (View Only and locked areas).
- Your changes aren't on your live website. After go-live, click Republish, then check the page in a private (incognito) browser window.
- A change went wrong. Click Undo (the curved left arrow at the top of the editor), or restore an earlier version of your website. See CMS: Restore an earlier version of your website (Site Backup).
- Your website doesn't load at your own domain after go-live. See Why isn't my website loading? (custom domain or site down).
Good to know
- Business Info is your new website's own copy of your details. Changes on Communications > Configurations > Contact Us don't change your website, and changes in Business Info don't change your admin site, so update both when your details change.
- Changes you save on your admin site, such as a program, a calendar event or a document, show in your website's TeamSideline sections without republishing.
