A Single Games division holds games you add one at a time, such as scrimmages, one-off games or a travel team's games against other clubs, with no time slots or season schedule to build. Choose Single Games as the Division Type when you add the division, set its Day of First Game, then add each game with Add Game on 4 Create Schedule and click Calc & Save.

Step 1: Add the division
- Go to Schedules > Leagues & Divisions and click Add Division.
- In Division Type, choose Single Games.
- Choose the League.
- Enter the Division Name.
- Choose the Gender, Age Group and Level Of Play.
- Click Add.
What you'll see: "The Division has been added." On Leagues & Divisions, the division's row shows the Single Game icon, a looped arrow with a 1. A division's type is chosen only here and can't be changed later.
Step 2: Set the Day of First Game
- On Leagues & Divisions, click the division's Edit Division icon (pencil). Its 1 Configuration > Scheduling page opens.
- Under Division Schedule Types, keep Regular checked. Check Practice too if the division needs practices.
- Set Day of First Game to the date of the division's first game, or earlier.
- Check Game Spacing, the minutes a game takes on your calendars.
- Click Save.
A Single Games division has no 2nd Half, Playoff, Games per Week/Team or Games Played/Team settings. No game can be dated before the Day of First Game, and 4 Create Schedule counts weeks from it, so set it before you add games.
Step 3: Add your teams (optional)
Teams that play several games are easiest to add first. On Leagues & Divisions, click the division's teams link (for example "0 Teams") to open 2 Teams, click Add Team, enter the Team Name and click Add. You can also skip this step and type each team's name when you add its game.
Step 4: Add each game
There's nothing to set on 3 Time Slots. Its page says "Locations for Single Game Divisions are defined during the Add Game process on the 4 Create Schedule page."
- On Leagues & Divisions, open the division's More Options menu and choose 4 Create Schedule (4 Create Schedule > Regular if the division also has practices).
- Click Add Game.
- For Home Team, choose a team in the list, or type a new team's name in the box beside it.
- For Away Team, do the same. The list also offers Bye, for a week a team doesn't play.
- Choose the Location, Date and Time. If they aren't known yet, check TBD ("Check box to set Location, Date, and Time to TBD.") instead.
- Click Add. The game joins the list below.
- Repeat for each game, then click Calc & Save.
What you'll see: "The Schedule has been calculated, saved, and is shown below. You can now view this schedule on the Standings & Results page." The games are grouped by week, with Time and Location columns. Games you add aren't saved until you click Calc & Save.
A new division's schedule starts hidden. To show it on your public site, click the division's eye icon on Leagues & Divisions.
Change or remove a game
- Edit Game (in the game's menu): change the Date, Time and Location, click Update, then Calc & Save.
- Delete Game (in the game's menu): removes the game; then click Calc & Save.
- Toggle TBD (the icon on the game's row): switches a game to TBD, or a TBD game to a date. A TBD game switched back starts on the Day of First Game at 12:00 PM at your first location, so set its real date, time and location with Edit Game.
If it doesn't work
- Single Games is grayed out in Division Type. The list notes "Disabled options are part of an upgraded package." Single Games comes with the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans. If your organization has one of those plans and it's still gray, ask TeamSideline Support to turn it on, then sign out and back in.
- "Home team name or selection required." or "Away team name or selection required." Choose a team in the list or type a name.
- "Home Team name is in use. Please use a different Team name." (or Away Team) A team in this division already has that name. Choose it in the list instead of typing it.
- "Location selection required." Choose a Location, or check TBD. If the location isn't in the list, add it on Schedules > Locations > Manage Locations (the Manage Locations button on 3 Time Slots opens it too).
- "The Start Time has not been selected or is incomplete." or "Invalid start time. Must be a 5 minute increment." Pick a time in the list, or type one whose minutes end in 0 or 5.
- "The Single Day must be on or after day of first game." The game's date is before the division's Day of First Game. Fix the date, or move the Day of First Game earlier on 1 Configuration > Scheduling, and read the next item first.
- A red TC (Time Slot Conflict) alert after the Day of First Game changed, on games on different dates. Weeks count from the Day of First Game, so games added before and after the change are counted differently, and two games on the same weekday, time and field can end up in the same week. For each game added before the change, choose Edit Game in its menu and click Update to count its week again, then click Calc & Save. A TC on two games at the same field, date and time is a real double booking: move one with Edit Game.
- A game shows on the Day of First Game instead of its own date. The Day of First Game was moved past it. Move the Day of First Game back to that game's date or earlier.
- A game you added is gone. It wasn't saved. Add it again and click Calc & Save before you leave the page.
Good to know
- A team typed into Add Game is added to 2 Teams as an External Team as soon as you click Add, even if you don't save the game. External Teams aren't listed in the standings and never get a bye. If you didn't keep the game, delete the team on 2 Teams.
- TeamSideline adds no byes in a Single Games division: the schedule holds only the games you add.
- 4 Create Schedule has no Create, Manual, Delete, Toggle View or Auto Resolve button for a Single Games division, so games are removed one at a time.
- To switch an existing Standard division to Single Games, add a new division with the Single Games type.
