Auto Resolve fixes conflicts in a division schedule you've already created. It moves only the games it needs to, so you don't have to rebuild the schedule. There are two versions behind the same Auto Resolve button: standard Auto Resolve and AI Auto Resolve. Inside TeamSideline, AI Auto Resolve is also called Smart Auto Resolve.
Which version do I have?
Open a division's 4 Create Schedule page and click Auto Resolve.
- If you see the All Time Slots and External Weeks check boxes, you're using standard Auto Resolve.
- If you see only the Resolve button, you're using AI Auto Resolve.
How they compare
| Standard Auto Resolve | AI Auto Resolve | |
|---|---|---|
| Who has it | Organizations with Auto Resolve. You need a role with Auto Resolve permission, such as Administrator or Scheduler | Organizations on the Elite or Enterprise plan, once TeamSideline turns it on |
| How it works | Rearranges games within each week, one week at a time | Looks across the whole season and moves each game that must move to the least disruptive open slot |
| Weeks it can use | Keeps every game in its original week | Can move a game to another week, and favors nearby weeks. It adds weeks at the end only if you allow it |
| Time slots it can use | The slots that already hold a game that week. Check All Time Slots to use every slot on the 3 Time Slots page | Every slot on the 3 Time Slots page |
| Conflicts it fixes | Team schedule conflicts, location availability, and multi-team coach conflicts | The same, plus holiday dates, teams booked twice at the same time, and games in overlapping time slots on the same field |
| Limits it follows | None for games per day or per week | Games per day and per week, travel time for coaches with more than one team, and your AI Auto Resolve Settings |
| Locked games | Doesn't check whether a game is locked | Never moves a locked game |
| Holidays | Doesn't check holidays | Never moves a game onto a holiday, and moves unlocked games off holidays |
| Settings | Check boxes on the Auto Resolve panel | Schedules > Configurations > AI Auto Resolve Settings, for your organization or for each league |
What both versions do
- Run in the background, so you can leave the page. You get an email when the run finishes.
- Never move a game that has been played or cancelled.
- Leave a game where it is if they can't find a better place for it.
- Show the changes as a proposed schedule for you to approve or reject, as long as no game in the schedule has a result yet. If any game has been played, forfeited, or cancelled, is marked Score Not Kept or Scoring In Progress, or has a game comment or Exclude From Standings, the changes are saved right away.
