Access
There's no Auto Resolve button
- Your role needs Auto Resolve permission. Ask an administrator to check your role.
- The division needs a schedule. The button appears once a schedule exists.
- The button is hidden for archived leagues and for Single Games divisions.
- The button is hidden while a run is in progress or a proposed schedule is waiting. Look for Cancel Auto Resolve, or for Approve and Reject.
I don't see AI Auto Resolve Settings
The page is for organizations with AI Auto Resolve, which comes with the Elite and Enterprise plans. Your role also needs access to it. Contact support@teamsideline.com to add AI Auto Resolve.
I see AI Auto Resolve Settings, but the Auto Resolve panel still has check boxes
AI Auto Resolve isn't turned on for your schedules yet. The settings page comes with your plan, but TeamSideline turns AI Auto Resolve on separately. Contact support@teamsideline.com.
Running Auto Resolve
Clicking Resolve does nothing
If you just canceled a run, it may still be stopping. Wait a minute, refresh the page, and try again.
The page has said "processing" for a long time
Runs wait in a queue, so a run can take a minute or more to start. AI Auto Resolve can take several minutes on a large division. If it's still processing after 30 minutes, contact support@teamsideline.com.
Other schedule pages are locked
While Auto Resolve runs, you can't drag this division's games on the Multi-Location Calendar. Multi Game Cancel won't save while any division in your organization is running. Wait for the run to finish, or cancel it.
Auto Resolve undid my latest changes
Auto Resolve works from your last saved schedule. Calc & Save doesn't save while the page shows a critical alert: Time Slot Conflict, Time Slot Not Selected, or Team Selected Twice. When that happens, the success message doesn't appear, and the page goes back to the saved schedule when Auto Resolve refreshes it. Fix the critical alerts or undo the change, click Calc & Save, then run Auto Resolve again.
Results
There were no Approve or Reject buttons, and my schedule already changed
A game in the schedule already had a result: it was played, forfeited, or cancelled, is marked Score Not Kept or Scoring In Progress, or has a game comment or Exclude From Standings. In that case Auto Resolve saves its changes right away. Review the schedule and fix anything by hand.
Auto Resolve didn't change anything, or some conflicts are still there
Auto Resolve leaves a game where it is when it can't find a better place, and it doesn't list those games. To give it more room:
- Add time slots or locations on 3 Time Slots.
- Standard: check All Time Slots. Standard Auto Resolve keeps games in their original week.
- AI: allow 1 extra week, or raise Maximum Games Per Week Per Team, in AI Auto Resolve Settings.
- Check for locked games and blocked weeks, which limit where games can go.
Standard Auto Resolve doesn't fix holiday conflicts, double-booked teams, or games in overlapping time slots on the same field. Neither version fixes rest-period conflicts. Fix those by hand.
A game moved to a TBD time slot or to the end of the season
Both versions can use a division's TBD time slots. AI Auto Resolve can also add weeks after your last game if Weeks Auto Resolve May Extend The Schedule is above 0. To stop this:
- Reject the proposed schedule, if you haven't approved it.
- AI: set Weeks Auto Resolve May Extend The Schedule to 0.
- On 3 Time Slots, delete the TBD time slots your schedule isn't using. You can't delete one that holds a game.
- Run Auto Resolve again.
A game moved off a holiday we play on
AI Auto Resolve keeps games off every date on TeamSideline's holiday list, even if you dismissed the holiday warning. Reject the proposed schedule, lock the games you want to keep on the holiday, and run Auto Resolve again.
A game moved to a date that's already passed
AI Auto Resolve doesn't check today's date, so it can use open time slots in weeks that are over. Reject the proposal, then fix that game by hand.
Games without a conflict were moved
AI Auto Resolve sometimes moves a game to make room for one that must move. Standard Auto Resolve rearranges games within a week. Home Away Alternating swaps home and away across the whole schedule. To keep games in place with AI Auto Resolve, reject the proposal, lock those games, and run it again.
A locked game moved
- The lock wasn't saved. After you lock games, click Calc & Save before you run Auto Resolve.
- Standard Auto Resolve doesn't check locks.
- Block A Week and swapping weeks move locked games.
Teams have doubleheaders
With AI Auto Resolve, set Maximum Games Per Day Per Team to 1. Standard Auto Resolve doesn't check games per day.
My edits disappeared when I approved
Approving replaces the whole live schedule with the proposal as it was when the run finished. Edits, scores, and cancellations entered while it waited are lost, and games added after the run disappear. Re-enter them, and next time approve or reject before you change anything.
Officials on moved games show as pending
This is expected. When you approve, confirmed assignments for moved games go back to Pending, with the new date, time, and location.
The proposal says "Smart Auto Resolve," but we use standard
The proposed-schedule messages use that name for both versions. Your run used the version your organization has.
Emails and notices
I got an email titled "Auto Resolve Unable to Complete"
The run failed, and your schedule wasn't changed, even though the email also says "has completed." Nothing appears on the schedule page after a failure. Run Auto Resolve again. AI Auto Resolve doesn't switch to standard when it fails. If it keeps failing, contact support.
The email says Auto Resolve completed, but my schedule hasn't changed
A proposed schedule may be waiting. Open 4 Create Schedule and approve or reject it. If there's no proposal, Auto Resolve found nothing to change.
I didn't get an email
Only the person who started the run gets it, and canceled runs don't send one. Check your spam folder.
AI Auto Resolve Settings
A league didn't change when I updated the organization default
The league has its own settings. Choose it in Scheduling League and click Reset to Organization Default.
Save shows a message
- "All Game Settings are required." Enter a number from 0 to 99 in every field.
- "Minimum Games Per Day cannot exceed the Maximum." or "Minimum Games Per Week cannot exceed the Maximum." Lower the minimum, or raise the maximum.
Unchecking Resolve Team Team/Player Schedule Conflicts changes nothing
That priority currently has no effect. AI Auto Resolve always avoids booking a team for two games at the same time either way.
My settings don't affect standard Auto Resolve
That's expected. The settings apply only to AI Auto Resolve.
