On an Editor 2.0 website, sponsor logos are pictures you add yourself in the Site Editor. Put them in a Photo Gallery to show every logo at once, or in a Media Slider to rotate them, link each logo to its sponsor's website, and click Republish.
Applies to: Org admins whose role includes Site Editor access, such as Administrator or Content Editor · All plans, for organizations with Editor 2.0 (the CMS module) · Editor 2.0 (CMS)
Where: Content > Site Editor
Choose how to show your sponsors
- Photo Gallery: every logo at once, in rows and columns, each one linked to its sponsor's website. A good fit for a Sponsors page or a block of logos on your home page.
- Media Slider: the logos take turns in one space, which saves room on a busy page. You can adjust the # of logos to show in the slider at once.
- Image: one logo on its own, for example a title sponsor next to an announcement.
If your website already has a sponsors section, click its gallery or slider and change the logos there instead of adding a new one. To give sponsors a page of their own, add the page first: see CMS: Site Pages.
Add sponsor logos in a Photo Gallery
- Go to Content > Site Editor and open the page where the logos go.
- In the left sidebar, click Add (+), search for "gallery" and drag the Photo Gallery onto the page.
- Click the gallery, then click Manage Photos in the toolbar above it.
- Click + Add image and upload the logo files. To remove a picture you don't want, click the X on its thumbnail.
- Turn on Enable links on gallery images at the bottom of the panel.
- Click each logo's thumbnail. In its settings, add the link to the sponsor's website and type the sponsor's name in Image alt text. To show the name under the logo too, type it in Caption.
- Click Edit Design in the gallery's toolbar and turn on Display full image. Unless it's on, a gallery crops each picture to fill its tile, which cuts off the edges of wide logos.
- Still in Edit Design, use Number of columns & Visible Rows to set how many logos show in each row.
- Click Republish.
Add sponsor logos in a Media Slider
- Go to Content > Site Editor and open the page. Click the slider that's already there, or click Add (+) and drag a Media Slider onto the page.
- Click the slider, then click Manage Media and add a slide for each logo.
- If a slide shows a button you don't want, select its image in Manage Media and turn off Button visibility.
- Click Edit Design, open Media & Background and turn on Display Full Media, so each logo shows whole instead of being cropped to fill the slide.
- Click Republish.
A Photo Gallery is the simplest way to link every logo: each picture in it takes its own link.
Add one sponsor logo
- In the Site Editor, click Add (+), then Elements, and drag an Image onto the page.
- Click the image, click Replace and upload the sponsor's logo.
- Click Manage Image in the toolbar above it and use Link image to add the sponsor's website address.
- Type the sponsor's name in Image alt text.
- Click Republish.
What you'll see
The logos show in the editor as soon as you add them. Visitors see them only after you click Republish, and a linked logo opens its sponsor's website when clicked.
If it doesn't work
- Logos are cut off. The gallery or slider is cropping each picture to fill its space. In Edit Design, turn on Display full image (Photo Gallery) or Display Full Media (Media Slider), then republish.
- A logo doesn't open the sponsor's website. Check that Enable links on gallery images is on and that the logo has a link, then click Republish.
- Visitors still see the old logos. Click Republish, then refresh the page.
- The sponsors area shows View Only or can't be selected. It's in a locked part of your website, such as the footer or a section that came with your template. Ask TeamSideline Support to change it, then click Republish when they tell you it's done. See CMS: Fixing Common Post-Migration Site Issues: Locked Elements, Registration Button URLs & Leftover HTML.
- Sponsors you entered at Content > Sponsors don't show. That page belongs to the legacy content editor and feeds only a legacy website. Add the logos in the Site Editor instead.
- You can't open the Site Editor. See CMS: Accessing the Editor.
Good to know
- TeamSideline's sponsor click counts, on the legacy Content > Sponsors page and in the Sponsor Detail report export, count only clicks on a legacy website's sponsor logos. Clicks on logos you add in the Site Editor aren't included.
- Editor 2.0 websites can show clicks on links and buttons in the Site Editor's site dashboard, under Stats > Open Full Stats > Engagements. This depends on your website's package, so if you don't see it, ask TeamSideline Support.
- Logos of a similar shape and size line up best in a gallery.
- To sell sponsorships, for example sponsor levels that families or businesses buy, see How To Add Sponsorship/Donation Options To Your Site.
- If your organization still uses the legacy content editor, sponsors are added at Content > Sponsors instead: see How to Create an Automatic Sponsor Page.
