On an Editor 2.0 website, the Sign In link families use is in the header (inside the menu on phones), and Admin Sign In is in the footer. Both are locked TeamSideline parts of your site: if one is missing, run the checks below, then ask TeamSideline Support to put it back and click Republish.
Applies to: Org admins · All plans, for organizations with Editor 2.0 (the CMS module) · Editor 2.0 (CMS)
Where: Content > Site Editor (to check the header and footer, and to republish); TeamSideline Support (to restore a link)
Where each link belongs
| Link | Who uses it | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Sign In | Parents, players, coaches and team managers, to reach their accounts | The header at the top of every page. On phones and small tablets it's inside the menu. |
| Admin Sign In | Your organization's admins, to reach the admin site | The footer at the bottom of every page |
Both are part of your website's design rather than a page you made, so adding seasons, programs or pages doesn't remove them. They go missing only when the header or footer itself is changed, for example when the link is deleted while someone edits it.
Check these first
- Open your live website in a new private (incognito) browser window, not in the Site Editor, so you see what visitors see.
- On a phone, or with your browser window made narrow, open the menu at the top of the page. On small screens Sign In is inside the menu, not in the header.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the page for Admin Sign In. It's small, light text, and on a dark footer it can be hard to see.
- Go to Content > Site Editor and look at the header and footer. If the link is there in the editor but not on your live website, click Republish in the top-right corner of the editor. Changes in the editor go live only when you republish.
- If you removed the link yourself while editing and haven't left the editor, click Undo (the curved left arrow at the top of the editor) until the link is back, then click Republish.
Ask Support to restore the link
- Contact TeamSideline Support. Say which link is missing (Sign In or Admin Sign In), where it's missing (header, footer or the phone menu), and your website's address.
- Support puts the link back in the Site Editor and locks the header or footer, so it can't be removed by accident again.
- When Support tells you it's done, go to Content > Site Editor. If the link isn't on your live website yet, click Republish: a restored header or footer can be saved in the editor without being published.
- Check your live website on a computer and on a phone.
What you'll see: Sign In is back in the header (inside the menu on a phone) and Admin Sign In is back in the footer. When you select the header or footer in the Site Editor, it shows View Only.
If it doesn't work
- The header or footer shows View Only and you can't add the link back. That's expected: they're locked. Ask TeamSideline Support to restore the link.
- Support restored it, but your live website still doesn't show it. Open the Site Editor and click Republish, then refresh the page in a private browser window.
- Sign In shows on a computer but not on a phone. The phone menu can be missing the link even when the header has it. Tell Support it's missing from the mobile menu.
- Admin Sign In is there but you can hardly read it. Ask TeamSideline Support about your footer's colors.
Good to know
- While Admin Sign In is missing, admins can still sign in at https://teamsideline.com/sites/yourleague/admin/sign_in, with your site's name in place of yourleague. If your site uses its own domain, you're taken to the same page on that domain. The page says "Welcome to Admin Sign In".
- The Sign In link is required on Editor 2.0 websites so families can reach their accounts, so Support restores it whenever it goes missing.
- Sign In and Admin Sign In are separate pages with separate jobs: a family account can't sign in at Admin Sign In. See How to Sign In to TeamSideline for which one to use.
- For the other locked parts of your website and how to change what they show, see the locked elements article below.
