On a website that uses the legacy content editor, you change the pictures at the top of your site, your badges (logos), the background image, the logo on your reports and the browser-tab icon yourself on Content > Configurations > Site Images: remove the old image, select the new one and click Save. Editor 2.0 sites work differently; see the last section.
Applies to: Org admins and content editors whose role includes Site Images · All plans · Legacy content editor (Editor 2.0: the Logo page)
Where: Content > Configurations > Site Images
What you can change
The sections on Site Images depend on your site's layout, which is set on Content > Configurations > Site Layout. The size column is what TeamSideline fits each image to, so upload pictures at least that size.
| Section | What it is | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Header Image (Minimalist layout) | The top of your site: a Single Image Header, a Header Image Rotator (a rotator you build on Content > Image Rotators) or a Video (.mp4). Enable Animation slowly zooms out the pictures. | 3000 x 600 for the single image |
| Background Image (Evolved layout) | The picture behind your pages. | Up to 2000 x 2000. As the page notes, "a larger image will degrade your site performance". |
| Badges | Left Badge, Center Badge and Right Badge in your site's header, usually your logos. An Evolved site with the full-width header (the third Layout choice under Home Page Top Navigation Bar on Site Layout) has one Full Width Badge instead. | Up to 300 x 200 each; Full Width Badge up to 1140 wide |
| Portal Badge | Your organization's logo on receipts, picture rosters, player passes and scoresheets, on mail merge documents and in the TeamSideline app. It's also the picture shown when someone shares one of your pages. The section appears when your site has member or coach sign-in. | 180 x 120 |
| Favicon | The small icon in the browser tab and in bookmarks. | 192 x 192, PNG |
Replace an image
- Go to Content > Configurations > Site Images.
- Find the image you want to change, for example Left Badge.
- If an image is there, click Remove under it. The Select button appears.
- Click Select and choose the new picture on your computer: a JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP or HEIC file of up to about 10 MB.
- To turn the picture, click the Rotate Left or Rotate Right icon above it.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
What you'll see: "Save Successful." Open your website and refresh the page to check the new image. To take an image off your site without replacing it, click Remove, then Save.
TeamSideline resizes each picture to fit its section and saves it as a PNG (the background as a JPG), so a picture smaller than the size in the table can look blurry.
Use a rotator or a video in the header (Minimalist layout)
- For a rotator, build it first on Content > Image Rotators, then choose it in Header Image Rotator on Site Images. Choose None to stop using it.
- For a video, click the upload box under Video and choose an .mp4 file, then choose a Height: Full Height or Half Height.
- Set Enable Animation to Yes or No for the single image and for the rotator.
- Click Save.
- To put words over the video, click [Edit] next to Video Text, type the Video Text, choose the Horizontal Alignment (Left, Center or Right) and Vertical Alignment (Top, Middle or Bottom), and click Save.
What you'll see: "Video uploaded" under Video, and "Video Text has been saved." for the text. To remove the video, click Remove under it.
On an Editor 2.0 site
- Editor 2.0 sites don't have Site Images. Their Content > Configurations > Logo page holds the logo "used for Reports, Mail Merge, and the App" (180 x 120). Replace it the same way: Remove, Select, Save.
- The logo and pictures on the website itself are changed in Content > Site Editor. See CMS: Introduction to Editor 2.0.
If it doesn't work
- There's no Select button. An image is already there. Click Remove first.
- Site Images isn't in your Content menu. Your site uses Editor 2.0 (look for Content > Configurations > Logo), or your admin role doesn't include Site Images. Ask an Administrator to add it to your role.
- The Background Image or Header Image section is missing. Each belongs to one layout: Background Image to Evolved, Header Image to Minimalist.
- "Only one video may be uploaded at a time." Choose a single video file.
- "File extention must be .mp4" Save or convert the video as an MP4 file and upload it again.
- "Your Video Text has exceeded the maximum allowable space -- please shorten." Shorten the Video Text and click Save.
- The badge looks blurry or tiny. Upload a larger, sharper picture, close to the size in the table.
- You still see the old image. Refresh the page. Browsers can keep showing an old favicon for a while; check in a private browser window.
Good to know
- The Home Page Banner (Content > Home Page Banner) is a separate message area, not a Site Images picture.
- The Portal Badge and the header badges are separate images. The Portal Badge is the logo on receipts, rosters, passes and scoresheets, while printable versions of your website's pages show the Left Badge.
