A division's 1 Configuration > Display page sets what visitors see on its public schedule and standings page, such as whether the standings, scores, comments, officials, byes, canceled games, practices and playoff brackets show, and what its sections and Home and Away columns are called. It also holds the division's name, gender, age group, level of play and calendar colors.
Applies to: Admins and schedulers · All plans (Home and Away names, Calendar colors and Update Multiple Divisions: Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise; Hide Schedule Link: Tournament module) · League and tournament divisions
Where: Schedules > Leagues & Divisions > (division) > More Options > 1 Configuration > Display
Open and save the Display page
- Go to Schedules > Leagues & Divisions.
- Open the division's More Options menu and choose 1 Configuration > Display.
- Change the settings and click Save at the bottom of the page.
- To check the result, click the division's name to open its Standings page and click Public View.
What you'll see: "Division configuration updated." These settings change only what visitors see. The admin Standings page always shows the standings, and the division's eye icon on Leagues & Divisions decides whether it's public at all.
Division Attributes
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Division Name | Required, up to 50 characters, and different from the other divisions in the league. |
| Gender, Age Group, Level Of Play | Describe the division. Age Group lists the age groups for the league's sport. |
Display Configurations
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show Schedule Default | Shown only when the division has a 2nd Half. Regular opens the public page on the 1st Half; Auto opens it on the 2nd Half once that schedule is visible ("Auto changes default to 2h when it's visible."). |
| Show Scores | Yes shows the scores. No hides every score, and no setting shows only who won: to post a result without the score, type it in the game's comment on Edit Scores and set Show Comments to Yes. |
| Show Comments | Shows the comment typed for each game on Edit Scores (up to 200 characters). The note "Game does not count in Standings." for a game with Hide in Standings shows here too. |
| Show Officials | Appears only with the Officials module. Yes lists each game's confirmed officials. On websites built with the legacy content editor they appear on the game's comment line, so Show Comments must be Yes too. |
| Show Standings | Shows or hides the standings section. Use it to hide the standings and keep the schedule; the eye icon on Leagues & Divisions shows or hides the whole division. |
| Show Tie Breakers | Shows the division's tie breakers, in order, with its standings. |
| Standings Layout | Default, or a layout you made on Schedules > Configurations > Custom Standings, which sets the standings columns. |
| GB/GP or PF/PA (named for your sport, such as GB/GP or RF/RA) | With the Default layout, shows Games Back and Games Played or the points (runs, goals) for and against. A custom layout's own columns take priority. |
| Show Game Number | Shows each game's unique game number under its time. |
| Show Canceled Games | Yes shows canceled games struck through; No hides them. Team Sites and the app list canceled games either way, so to remove a game everywhere, delete it on 4 Create Schedule (set a canceled game back to Not played on Edit Scores first). |
| Show Game Section | No hides the division's games on the public page, while the standings and practices follow their own settings, and the eye icon turns yellow. To list your teams before the schedule is ready, set it to No and click the division's gray eye icon so it turns on. |
| Show Practice Section | Do Not Show, Show Above Schedule or Show Below Schedule, for the public page only. Practices reach Team Sites when you publish them on the program's 5 Team Sites page. |
| Show Locations Section | Yes adds a list of the division's locations, with field or court and address. |
| Show # of Sched. Wks | All, or 1 to 40 to show only weeks 1 through that number ("Weeks start with Week 1 of your Schedule."). It also holds back later upcoming games on Team Sites and in the app, and the eye icon turns yellow. |
| Show Byes | Yes shows byes ("Select "Yes" to show Byes on Schedule."). No hides them, and 4 Create Schedule stops adding byes. |
| Swap Home & Away | Yes lists the away team first. |
| Show Playoff Grid | Shows the list of playoff games. |
| Show Playoff Brackets | Shows the bracket drawing. Position Rounds playoffs never show one. |
| Playoff Numbering | Round & Game labels playoff games like R1-G2, Game Only like G5. Only the labels change, so nothing needs rebuilding. |
| Show Extended Roster | Only in leagues that don't come from a registration program. Yes switches each team's roster page (View Roster on 2 Teams) to the detailed roster, with Add Player and Print View. |
| Show Stats | Yes adds a See Stats button to the public page when the division's stats are turned on. It doesn't affect the standings. |
| Show Long Team Nm | Yes shows a team's associated organization (its short name) in front of the team name on public schedules and standings; No shows the team name alone. It changes only teams that have an associated organization. |
| Hide Schedule Link | Needs the Tournament module. Yes leaves the division off your public Schedules page and left sidebar ("Select "Yes" to hide the default link in the left sidebar and public Schedules page."); its page still opens from a direct link. |
| Show Public Team Info | Yes makes each team name in the standings a link to a public page listing the team's staff and players. Anyone can open it; there's no coaches-only option. |
| Show Jersey Number | Yes shows each player's jersey number on the stats entry pages (Edit Stats, and the coaches' stats entry). It comes from a Player custom field or an enrollment field named Jersey Number, Jersey Numbers, Jersey #, Shirt Number, Shirt Numbers or Shirt #, or else from the player's Jersey # on the Team Site. |
Standings Page Section and Column Names
Rename the headings visitors see: Standings, Schedule, Playoff Schedule 1 to 4, Playoff Brackets 1 to 4, Practices and Locations (up to 50 characters each). Home and Away rename the Home and Away columns on the schedule and on Edit Scores (up to 15 characters); they're on the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans.
Calendar
On the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans, Background Color and Border Color set the color of this division's games on your calendars instead of the league's colors ("Use this section to override League colors.").
Tournament divisions
Tournament divisions (Tournament module) have their own Display page in the same place, with the same settings except Show Practice Section, Show # of Sched. Wks, Show Byes and the Calendar section. There, Show Schedule Default is called Show Schedule as Default, and Show Long Team Nm also adds the team's pool name.
New divisions and many divisions at once
- Sport Defaults (Schedules > Configurations > Sport Defaults) holds the same display settings, section names and calendar colors for each sport. New divisions of that sport start with them; divisions you already have don't change. There, Show Byes reads "Select "No" to Disable auto-generated Byes."
- Without Sport Defaults, a new division shows standings, scores, comments, tie breakers, canceled games, byes and playoffs, and hides officials, stats, game numbers, locations, practices and the team links.
- On the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans, Update Multiple Divisions on Leagues & Divisions (Update Type: Configuration) changes these settings for many divisions at once.
If it doesn't work
- "Division Name is required." Enter a name and click Save.
- "This Division name is in use. Please use a different Division name." Another division in the league has that name.
- A setting is grayed out with an upgrade icon ("This feature is part of an upgraded package."). Home and Away need the Enhanced plan or higher; Hide Schedule Link needs the Tournament module.
- Everything is grayed out and there's no Save button. The league is archived.
- A setting is missing. Show Officials appears only with the Officials module, Show Schedule Default only with a 2nd Half, Show Extended Roster only in leagues that don't come from a registration program, and the Calendar section only on the Enhanced plan or higher.
- Officials don't show on the schedule. Set Show Officials and Show Comments to Yes. Only confirmed officials are listed, and none on canceled games.
- Nothing changes on your website. Check the division's eye icon on Leagues & Divisions, and check the page with Public View. For an Editor 2.0 website, see CMS: Show schedules, standings and the game scroller on your website.
Good to know
- Display settings change only what's shown, never how the standings are calculated. That's on 1 Configuration > Scoring.
- Team Sites and the app follow the eye icon and Show # of Sched. Wks for upcoming games, but not the other settings on this page, such as Show Scores or Show Canceled Games.
- Editor 2.0 schedule widgets read most of these settings, but team names there aren't links, even with Show Public Team Info set to Yes.
