To delete a division's schedule, open it on 4 Create Schedule (Regular, 2nd Half or Playoff) and click Delete. The Delete button disappears once any game in that schedule has been played, so first change those games back to Not played on the division's Edit Scores page.
Applies to: Admins and schedulers with the 4 Create Schedule Delete permission · All plans · League divisions (tournament divisions use their Pool Play and Bracket pages)
Where: Schedules > Leagues & Divisions > (division) > More Options > 4 Create Schedule > Regular, 2nd Half or Playoff
Delete a schedule
- Go to Schedules > Leagues & Divisions.
- Open the division's More Options menu and choose 4 Create Schedule. If the division has more than one schedule, choose Regular, 2nd Half, Playoff, 2nd Playoff, 3rd Playoff or 4th Playoff.
- Click Delete.
- In the Delete Schedule box ("Are you sure you want to delete this Schedule?"), click OK.
What you'll see: "Your schedule has been deleted. Until you create a new schedule, no schedule will be displayed on either the Public or League Administration site Standings & Results pages." The Create button is back on the page.
What a delete keeps and removes
- Only the schedule on that page is deleted. Deleting the Regular schedule leaves the 2nd Half and playoff schedules, and each playoff bracket is deleted on its own page.
- The division's teams, its time slots and its 1 Configuration settings stay, so you can click Create to build a new schedule. In a division set up for Auto Assign, that schedule's time slots are deleted too.
- Games from the deleted schedule are removed from published Team Sites.
- In a Cross Division pair, deleting the first division's schedule deletes both divisions' schedules.
- An Auto Resolve proposal waiting for your approval is rejected, because the schedule it was based on no longer exists.
If the Delete button is missing
- A game has been played. Delete is hidden while any game in the schedule is Played. On a playoff page it's also hidden while any game is Forfeit by home or Forfeit by away. Change those games back with the steps below.
- Your admin role doesn't include deleting schedules (the 4 Create Schedule Delete permission). Ask an Administrator to delete it or to update your role.
- It's the second division of a Cross Division pair. Delete the schedule from the first division, which deletes both.
- It's a Single Games division. Single Games divisions have no Delete button. Delete their games one at a time, as described below.
Change played games back to Not played
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, open the division's More Options menu and choose Edit Scores (or click Edit Scores on the division's Standings page).
- For each played game (and, in a playoff, each forfeited game), clear both scores and set Disposition to Not played.
- Click Save.
- Go back to the schedule's 4 Create Schedule page and click Delete.
Clear both scores: a Not played game saved with both scores entered changes back to Played. Deleting the schedule then removes those results for good, so keep a copy (for example with Print View on the Standings page) if you'll need to re-enter them.
Delete one game instead
- On the schedule's 4 Create Schedule page, click the game menu icon at the end of the game's row.
- Click Delete Game.
- Click Calc & Save. Until you do, the game isn't removed; Calculate only previews the change.
- Only games that are Not played can be deleted. A played game has no menu, and a canceled game's menu offers only Reschedule Game; change it back to Not played on Edit Scores first.
- On a playoff page, Delete Game is offered only on Manual playoff schedules and for optional "if" games that haven't been played. To drop a game from a generated bracket, delete the playoff schedule and create it again.
Delete a whole division
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, click the division's Delete Division icon (red X).
- Click OK to confirm "Are you sure you want to delete Division "[division name]"?".
If players are assigned to the division's teams through a registration program, you see "The division cannot be deleted because there are existing roster assignments." Remove those roster assignments first, or keep the division and click its eye icon so the schedule is hidden.
Good to know
- Once a Regular or Playoff schedule exists, the Day of First Game and Schedule Week can't be changed on 1 Configuration. Delete the schedule (or schedules) to change them, then click Create again.
- After you click Create again, make your changes and click Calc & Save to save them.
- To keep families from seeing a half-finished schedule while you rebuild, click the division's eye icon on Leagues & Divisions so it turns red, and click it again when you're done.
- A deleted schedule can't be restored from the admin site. If you delete a division by mistake, TeamSideline support can restore it.
- Tournament divisions: the Pool Play and Bracket pages have their own Delete buttons. Pool Play's is hidden once a game is played; a Bracket page's also once a game is forfeited.
