Copy a calendar link from TeamSideline, then add it in Google Calendar on a computer under Other calendars > From URL; it then shows on your Android phone through the same Google account. Google checks subscribed calendars for changes on its own schedule, so new games and changes can take several hours to appear.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and fans · All plans · Google Calendar on the web and on Android, with links from Team Sites and your organization's website
Where: Team Sites (www.teamsideline.com) > Calendar, or Teams > your team > Events > Subscribe to this Calendar; your organization's website > a division's schedule > Subscribe, or the Calendar page > Subscribe to this Calendar; Google Calendar > Other calendars > + > From URL
Step 1: Copy the calendar link
Each link is its own calendar, so pick the one with the events you want.
| You want | Where to copy the link |
|---|---|
| All your teams, plus the teams you follow with Family & Friends | Sign in to your Team Site on the web and click Calendar in the menu. Point to (or tap) the info icon, an exclamation point in a circle, next to Subscribe to this Calendar, and copy the link in the box. |
| One team only | Sign in to your Team Site, click Teams and your team, then Events. Point to the info icon next to Subscribe to this Calendar and copy the link. It holds only that team's events. |
| A division's games, for every team or one team | On your organization's website, open the division's schedule and click Subscribe. Copy the link next to All Teams, or the one next to your team's name. |
| Your organization's calendar | On your organization's website, open the Calendar page, point to the info icon next to Subscribe to this Calendar and copy the link. |
On a Team Site, clicking in the box selects the whole link, so you can copy it with Ctrl+C (Command+C on a Mac). Picking a team in the Calendar page's team list changes only what the page shows, not the link: for one team, use that team's Events page.

In the TeamSideline app, you can get the same all-teams link from the Calendar tab: tap the menu icon at the top right, tap Subscribe and copy the link.
Step 2: Add the link in Google Calendar on a computer
The Google Calendar phone app can't add a calendar from a link, so do this step on a computer.
- Go to calendar.google.com and sign in with the Google account your Android phone uses.
- On the left, next to Other calendars, click + (Add other calendars).
- Click From URL.
- Paste the link into URL of calendar. Leave Make the calendar publicly accessible unchecked.
- Click Add calendar.
What you'll see: the calendar is listed under Other calendars on the left. Its name comes from the link: TeamSideline Calendar for a Team Site link, the league and division for a division link, or the organization's name followed by Calendar for an organization link.
Step 3: Turn it on in your Android phone's calendar
- On your phone, open the Google Calendar app, signed in with the same Google account.
- Tap Menu (three lines) at the top left, then Settings.
- Under your Google account, tap the new calendar. If it isn't listed, tap Show more.
- Turn on Sync.
The events then show in Google Calendar on your phone, and in other calendar apps on the phone that show your Google account's calendars.
What you'll see
- TeamSideline updates what a link shows within about 10 minutes of a change. Google picks up the change the next time it checks the calendar, which can take several hours, and there's no way to make it check sooner.
- Team Site and organization calendar links show events from about 90 days ago to a year ahead.
- On a Team Site link, each event's name ends with the team's name in parentheses, games start with <Home> or <Away>, and canceled games start with "[Canceled]". On a division link, each game is named by its two teams, and canceled games start with "[Canceled]".
- You can't change TeamSideline events in Google Calendar. Changes come from your team's staff or your organization.
If it doesn't work
- Google Calendar won't add the link. Copy the whole link, from http:// or https:// to the end, and use From URL, not Import: Import needs a file and makes a copy that never updates. If the link starts with webcal://, change webcal to https and try again.
- The calendar is added, but it's empty. Make sure the games show on the page you copied the link from. A Team Site link includes only teams whose roster lists you under the email address you sign in with, and skips teams you've hidden on Teams > All Teams. A division link shows games only while your organization shows that schedule on its website. The troubleshooting article listed below has more fixes.
- It's in Google Calendar on the computer but not on your phone. Turn on Sync for it on the phone (Step 3), and check that the phone uses the same Google account.
- A change hasn't reached your calendar. Give Google a few hours. To get the latest events at once, remove the calendar from Google Calendar and add the link again.
- Times are off by an hour or more. A Team Site link uses the Time Zone on your Team Site's My Account page: click your name at the top of any Team Site page, pick your time zone and click Save. Division and organization links use your organization's time zone, so tell your organization if those are wrong.
Good to know
- Your Team Site link is personal: anyone who has it can see your teams' events, with locations and staff notes. Share it only with your family, and keep the calendar private in Google.
- A team drops off your Team Site link when its Team Site is archived, or when you hide the team.
- An iPhone, iPad or Outlook uses its own steps: see the iPhone and Outlook articles below.
