A calendar subscription updates on your calendar app's own schedule, so changes can take a while to appear. If it's empty or out of date, check which link you used, that the games are posted where the link comes from, and that you're still on the team; then remove the subscription and subscribe again.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and fans · All plans · Calendar subscriptions from your organization's website and from TeamSideline team sites
Where: Your organization's website (a division's schedule page: Subscribe; the Calendar page: Subscribe to this Calendar) and TeamSideline.com > Calendar (Subscribe to this Calendar)
Which link did you use?
Each link is a different calendar, so check which one you subscribed to.
| Link | Where you get it | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Division schedule | On your organization's website, open the division's schedule and click Subscribe, then copy the link for All Teams or for one team. | That division's games (regular season, playoffs and 2nd half) and, if the division shows them, its practices. Games are included only while the schedule is posted on the website. Times use your organization's time zone. |
| Organization calendar | On your organization's website, open the Calendar page and point to the info icon next to Subscribe to this Calendar. | The organization's calendar events and, if the organization includes them, games, practices, registration dates and facility reservations, from 90 days ago to a year ahead. Times use your organization's time zone. |
| Team site calendar | Sign in at TeamSideline.com, open Calendar and point to the info icon next to Subscribe to this Calendar. | Your own calendar: every team you're on, plus teams you follow with Family & Friends, from 90 days ago to a year ahead. Times use the Time Zone on your TeamSideline My Account page. |
The instructions with each link say to use your calendar program's "Subscribe to URL" feature and paste the link there. Importing a downloaded calendar file instead gives you a copy that never updates.
Fix an empty or out-of-date subscription
- Give it time. TeamSideline refreshes each subscription link at most every 10 minutes, and your calendar app then checks subscribed calendars on its own schedule, which in some apps can take several hours.
- Check the source. Open the schedule on the website, or your team site, and make sure the games are there. A subscription can't show games that aren't posted yet.
- Remove the subscription from your calendar app. See How to unsubscribe from a TeamSideline Calendar.
- Go back to the same page, copy the link again and subscribe with your app's subscribe-by-URL option.
- If it's still empty, try the other kind of link for the same games: your team site calendar link if you're on the team, or the Subscribe link on the division's schedule page.
What you'll see: the events appear the next time your calendar app refreshes the subscription. Canceled games stay on the calendar with "[Canceled]" at the start of their names.
If it doesn't work
- The subscription shows nothing at all. The organization hasn't posted the schedule on its website yet, the season has ended and its league was archived (subscribe to the new season's schedule), or, for a team site link, you're no longer on the team's roster under the email address you sign in with. Ask your organization if you're not sure.
- Some games are missing. A team link shows only that team's games; the organization may be showing only the first weeks of the schedule; and on team site calendars, games still waiting for a time slot, shown as TBD, don't appear until they're scheduled.
- Times are an hour or more off. Team site links use the Time Zone on your My Account page: sign in at TeamSideline.com, click your name at the top, choose the right Time Zone (in Arizona, US Mountain Standard Time (Arizona)) and click Save. Division and organization links use your organization's time zone, so if those are wrong, tell your organization.
- Your iPhone says an "identical Subscribed Calendar account already exists". The phone already has a subscription with this link. Use the existing one, or delete it from your iPhone's calendar accounts and subscribe again.
- Your calendar app says the link isn't valid. Copy the whole link, including the http:// or https:// at the start, and paste it into the app's subscribe-by-URL option rather than its import option. If it still won't take it, use the other kind of link.
- The calendar stopped updating completely. Get a new link from the page and subscribe again. Subscriptions also stop when an organization closes its TeamSideline account.
Good to know
- Your team site link is personal: anyone who has it can see your teams' events, so share it only with your family.
- Team site events include the location's address and any staff notes, and games are marked <Home> or <Away>.
- Changing an event in your calendar app doesn't change it in TeamSideline. Subscriptions are read-only.
- Organization admins: if another company's system imports your TeamSideline calendar automatically and stops getting updates, contact TeamSideline Support.
