Your Editor 2.0 website keeps your organization's name, logo, address, phone numbers, email addresses and social media links in one place: Business Info, in the Site Editor's CMS panel. Change them there and click Republish, and every part of the site that's connected to Business Info shows the new details.
Applies to: Org admins with Site Editor access · All plans, for organizations with Editor 2.0 (the CMS module) · Editor 2.0 (CMS)
Where: Content > Site Editor > CMS (left sidebar) > Business Data > Business Info
If your Content menu has Page Edit and Home Page Banner but no Site Editor, your organization uses the legacy content editor; see CMS: Which website editor do I have? Legacy Content vs. Editor 2.0.
Update Business Info
- Go to Content > Site Editor. The editor opens in the same browser tab.
- In the left sidebar, click CMS, then Business Data > Business Info.
- Change the fields you need (see the table below).
- Click Republish at the top right to put the changes on your live website.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Business name | Your organization's name as it should appear on the site. |
| Business logo | Upload or replace your logo. Once a logo is set, the field shows its file name and size. |
| Business type | Sports Club. |
| Physical Address | A location name and the street address. You can choose one of the suggested addresses, or type the address the way you want it shown (see Addresses, below). |
| Hide address | Turn it on if you don't want a street address shown, for example when your organization has no office or storefront. Read the caution under If it doesn't work first. |
| Phone Number | One or more numbers, each with a label such as Main or Office. |
| One or more email addresses, each with a label. | |
| Social Icons | The full web address (URL) of each profile, such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. |
What you'll see: after you republish, the connected parts of your website show the new details. On TeamSideline's website templates, the phone, email and social links in the header, the mobile menu and the footer come from Business Info.
Connected and static elements
Business Info only changes the parts of your website that are connected to it.
- Connected elements pull their content from Business Data, so they update when you change Business Info and republish.
- Static elements are text you typed or images you uploaded on a page. They don't change with Business Info. Edit them on the page, for example with an image's Replace button.
- To connect text so it updates with Business Data, select the text, click the three dots and choose Connect To Data.
- To change a detail typed on many pages, such as an old phone number, use Find and Replace in the CMS panel: it finds a word or phrase on every page and replaces it in one step.
Addresses
An address connected to Business Info is shown with the formatting of the address suggestions. To show it exactly as you want, type the address in Business Info without choosing a suggestion, or disconnect that element from Business Data and type the address on the page.
Your logo outside the website
The Business Info logo is for your website. The logo TeamSideline uses on your account and registration pages, reports, order receipts, player passes and the app comes from Content > Configurations > Logo. When your logo changes, update both.
- Go to Content > Configurations > Logo.
- Upload the new logo. It's resized to 180 by 120 pixels, so a logo close to that shape works best.
- Click Save. You'll see "Save Successful."
If it doesn't work
- Your live website doesn't show the change. Click Republish in the Site Editor; changes stay in the editor until you do. A browser that already had the page open can show the old page for a few minutes, so check in a private window.
- The logo, phone number or address changed in Business Info but not on one page. That element is static. Edit or replace it on the page, or connect it to Business Data.
- A social icon still goes to the old profile, or you can't select it. The icon isn't connected to Business Info, or it's in a locked part of the site that shows View Only, such as the header. Contact TeamSideline Support to update it, then click Republish. See CMS: Why can't I edit the header, footer or some page text? (View Only and locked areas).
- Your Contact Us page disappeared after you changed the address. Setting the business to have no physical location has removed the Contact Us page on at least one site. Contact TeamSideline Support to restore it, then republish.
- The old logo still shows on receipts, account pages or the app. Those use Content > Configurations > Logo, not Business Info. Upload the logo there.
- You can't open the Site Editor. See CMS: How to open the Site Editor (and what to do if you can't).
Good to know
- Business Info is your website's own copy of these details. TeamSideline staff can copy your TeamSideline name, mailing address, contact phone and email into it when your site is set up, but after that the two don't stay in step: changes on Communications > Configurations > Contact Us don't change your website, and changes in Business Info don't change TeamSideline. Update both when your details change.
- Business Data also has Business Text, for reusable text such as a tagline or mission statement that you connect to text on several pages, and Business Images, a library of images for your organization's profile.
- Media Manager, in the CMS panel, holds every image and file uploaded to your website.
- Every admin who can open the Site Editor can edit Business Info and republish.
