Overview
The New Site Editor (Editor 2.0 / New Content Builder) uses a different workflow than the legacy content site. If a help article tells you to go to Administration > Configurations or Content > Configurations but you don't see those options, you are almost certainly on the new editor and need the steps below. This article covers three of the most common new-editor tasks:
- Setting up Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) via Google Tools
Setting Up Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager
In the classic Admin site, Google Analytics is set under Administration > Configurations > Analytics & SEO. In the Editor 2.0 that menu does not exist; instead, Google tracking is configured through Google Tools.
- In the Site Editor, go to More > Settings > Google Tools.
- Add your GA4 Measurement ID (it starts with G-) in the Google Tools settings.
- Save your changes. It can take a few hours before tracking data begins to appear in your Google Analytics account.
Google Tag Manager / Google Ads Conversion Tags
To use a Google Tag Manager (GTM) container or a Google Ads conversion tag, add the container/tag code to the site header:
- In the Site Editor, open the Site Settings.
- Paste your GTM container code (or other header code) into the Head HTML field.
- Save and publish.
Why don't I see "Configurations" or "Analytics & SEO"?
If you followed an older help article and can't find Administration > Configurations > Analytics & SEO or Content > Configurations > Site Pages, your organization is on the new Site Editor. Use the new-editor paths in this article (Content > Site Editor, More > Settings > Google Tools, and the SEO/AEO tools) instead.
