You see this message when you click Create on 4 Create Schedule and TeamSideline can't build any games for the division. It happens with Double Header/Different Team divisions: TeamSideline builds them only from saved patterns, and none matches your number of teams, Games Played/Team and time slots. Change the setup to one a pattern covers, use a saved template, ask TeamSideline support to add a pattern, or switch to a setup that doesn't need one.
Applies to: Admins and schedulers · All plans · League divisions with 2 Game Configuration set to Double Header/Different Team
Where: Schedules > Leagues & Divisions > (division) > 4 Create Schedule, after you click Create
What the message means
The message asks you to contact TeamSideline support "to let us know a Double Header schedule for this Division configuration is not available. Please include the Division name in your email so we can help you more quickly." No games are created.
A pattern must match all of these:
- The number of teams on 2 Teams.
- Games Played/Team on 1 Configuration > Scheduling.
- The number of time slots on 3 Time Slots.
- How the time slots are stacked: how many start at each day and time. The numbers at the right above the time slot list show it, for example 3-3 for three fields at two start times.
- With an odd number of teams, the For Schedule choice under Odd Team Division Configuration (Schedule Byes or All Teams Play Every Week).
Double Header/Same Team and Different Days divisions are built automatically, so they don't depend on a pattern.
How to fix it
- 1. On 3 Time Slots, check that you have one time slot per team, or one fewer with an odd number of teams and the matching For Schedule choice.
- 2. Change one thing at a time and click Create again: Games Played/Team, the number of time slots, or how the time slots are spread across start times.
- 3. If your organization saved a template from a double header schedule with the same setup (Enhanced plan and up), click Use Template on 4 Create Schedule, choose it and click Create. The list shows only templates that fit the division ("This list is filtered by the current division configurations.").
- 4. If you need this exact setup, contact TeamSideline support with the league and division name. Support can add a pattern for it.
Setups that don't need a pattern
- Same opponent twice in a row: set 2 Game Configuration to Double Header/Same Team and add Game 1 and Game 2 time slots. See "How to create a same-team double header schedule (Double Header/Same Team)".
- Two different opponents on the same day: set 2 Game Configuration to Different Days and Rest Period to 0, and save. On 3 Time Slots, set the later time slots to Game 2 with each row's Edit icon, or drag them into the Game 2 group. You need at least half the teams, rounded down, as Game 1 and as Game 2 time slots. Each week the teams play one round in the Game 1 time slots and another round in the Game 2 time slots, so each team meets two different opponents (with an odd number of teams, one team sits out each round), but a team's two games aren't paired back to back. If Same Day Warnings is Yes in Schedules > Configurations > General, 4 Create Schedule shows Same Day Games (SD) warnings; they don't stop Calc & Save.
- Build it yourself: on 4 Create Schedule, click Manual, choose the Weeks and Games Per Week, and click Create. Set each game's teams and time slot, then click Calc & Save.
If it doesn't work
- There's no Create button at all. That's a different problem: the division is missing a requirement, such as enough time slots. See the first related article.
- The Use Template list is empty. No template saved by your organization matches the division's teams, games, time slots and settings.
- RP warnings appear after switching to Different Days. Rest Period is above 0, so games on the same day are flagged. Set it to 0 on 1 Configuration > Scheduling.
Good to know
- When Create builds a schedule from a pattern, its success message ends with a number in braces. Include it if you contact support about that schedule.
- Tournament Pool Play pages show a similar message ("a schedule for this Division configuration is not available") when no pool pattern fits. Contact TeamSideline support with the division name.
- For the full setup steps, see "How to create a different-team double header schedule (Double Header/Different Team)".
