Parts of your Editor 2.0 website are locked on purpose and show View Only in the Site Editor: the header with your Sign In link, the footer with Admin Sign In, and the TeamSideline sections that show information from your admin site, such as programs, policies, the Store and Donations. Change that information on its admin page, and ask TeamSideline Support to change a locked header, footer or template button.

Where: Content > Site Editor; the admin pages in the table below
What's locked and why
- The header and its Sign In link. Families use the Sign In link, in the header and in the mobile menu, to reach their accounts. The header is locked so the link can't be deleted by accident. When you select it in the Site Editor, you see View Only.
- The footer. The footer holds the Admin Sign In link your admins use, so it's locked for the same reason. The address, phone and social links in it come from Business Info in the Site Editor.
- TeamSideline sections. Program lists, policy pages, the Store and Donations, calendars, documents, Entry Forms, schedules and the Contact Us form are TeamSideline sections. They show your admin site's information each time someone visits, so you can't type over them in the Site Editor. You can add your own text, pictures and buttons around them.
- Some template parts. A few buttons or sections that came with your website's template may be locked. Support can change their text or link for you.
Where to change what a TeamSideline section shows
| What you want to change | Where to change it |
|---|---|
| Your Privacy, Refund, Terms of Service or Secure Checkout policy | Administration > Configurations > Policies |
| A program's name, description, picture or dates | Programs > Manage Programs, then open the program (1 Setup) |
| Store or Donations items | Programs > Store/Donations Setup |
| Instructions on the cart and order confirmation | Content > Checkout Instructions |
| Calendar events | Content > Calendar |
| Documents | Content > Downloads |
| Entry Forms | Content > Entry Forms |
| Schedules, standings and scores | Schedules > Leagues & Divisions |
| Text on the Contact Us page | Communications > Configurations > Contact Us, until your new website is live; after that, TeamSideline Support |
What you'll see: changes you save on these admin pages show on your website without republishing, usually within a few minutes.
Change a policy page
- Go to Administration > Configurations > Policies.
- Click the tab for the policy: Privacy, Refund, Secure Checkout or Terms of Service.
- Edit the text. To start again from TeamSideline's standard wording, click Revert to Default.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "The Privacy Policy has been saved." (or the Refund, Secure Checkout or Terms of Service Policy). Your website's policy page shows the new text. A policy you've never saved shows TeamSideline's standard text.
Get a locked header, footer or template part changed
- Contact TeamSideline Support and say what you need, for example "put the Sign In link back in the mobile menu" or "change where the Register button links".
- When Support says it's done, go to Content > Site Editor.
- If the change isn't on your live website yet, click Republish. A change can be saved in the editor without being published.
If it doesn't work
- Your Sign In or Admin Sign In link is missing, or the mobile menu is broken. Contact TeamSideline Support to restore the header or footer, then click Republish.
- A policy page still shows the old text. Revert to Default only fills in the standard text ("The Privacy Policy has been reverted to default Privacy Policy. Save to keep this policy."), so click Save. Then wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
- Policies isn't under Administration > Configurations. Your admin role doesn't include Administration settings. Ask an admin who has full access.
- Text above your program list, such as "This page displays all the current registration programs for our league.", can't be selected or edited. It's standard text that came with the page. Ask TeamSideline Support to change or remove it.
- Stray HTML code shows on your Contact Us page. See CMS: Remove leftover HTML code showing on your Contact Us page after migration.
Good to know
- Each program's description comes from Program Description on the program's 1 Setup page. Check Hide default program text under it to hide the standard registration details TeamSideline adds for that program, such as registration dates and costs.
- TeamSideline sections use your website's theme colors and fonts. Change those in the Site Editor's theme, and the sections follow.
- To link a button to one program's registration page, see CMS: Link a Button to a Specific TeamSideline Program.
