To list your registration programs on an Editor 2.0 website, add TeamSideline's Programs widget to a page in the Site Editor, choose whether it lists Highlighted, Current or Upcoming programs, and click Republish. Checking Show on Home Page on a program doesn't put it on a page by itself: it only adds the program to a Programs widget that lists Highlighted programs.
Applies to: Org admins who use the Site Editor · All plans, for organizations with Editor 2.0 (the CMS module) · Registration programs on Editor 2.0 (CMS) websites
Where: Content > Site Editor (the widget); Programs > Manage Programs and the program's 1 Setup (what the widget lists)
Add the Programs widget to a page
- Go to Content > Site Editor.
- Open the page where the programs should appear, such as your Register page or your home page.
- Add a section where you want the list: click Add Section, choose Layouts and pick a blank grid.
- Click the plus icon in the new section, type Programs in the widget search, and choose the Programs widget.
- In the widget's settings, choose which programs it lists: Highlighted, Current or Upcoming (see the table below).
- Click Republish so the list appears on your live website.
What you'll see: each program in the list with its picture, name and description, its registration dates, program dates and costs (unless Hide default program text is checked), and buttons to register, volunteer or sponsor while those are open. A More Info button opens the program's own page, unless Hide More Info page is checked.
Which programs each list shows
| List | Shows programs that | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Highlighted | Have Show on Home Page checked, and whose Pgm Status is Open or Not Open Yet | A few featured programs, for example on your home page |
| Current | Have the Pgm Status Open: registration has started and the program's end date hasn't passed | Your Register page |
| Upcoming | Have the Pgm Status Not Open Yet: registration hasn't started | Showing a program before registration opens |
Every list shows only programs that are visible (a green eye on Programs > Manage Programs) and not archived, in the same order as on Manage Programs. To change the order, drag a program's row on Manage Programs.
To show current and upcoming programs separately, add two Programs widgets, one listing Current and one listing Upcoming, each under its own heading. Put them on one page or on two pages, then click Republish.
When a program appears and drops off
- New and copied programs start hidden. Click the eye icon (Toggle Visibility) on Manage Programs so it turns green.
- Pgm Status follows the program's dates. A program is Not Open Yet until its registration starts (the earliest registration or volunteer date of its offerings), Open from then until the end of its Program Duration on 1 Setup, and Closed after that. A Closed program drops off every list. The status updates when you save the program and on its own as the dates pass.
- Closing registration doesn't remove a program. It stays in the Current list until its Program Duration ends, with registration closed.
- Manage Programs shows each program's Pgm Status (Open, Not Open Yet or Closed) and Reg Status.
Change what a program shows
| To change | Go to |
|---|---|
| Its name, picture or description | 1 Setup: Program Name, Program Image, Program Description |
| Its registration dates and costs | 2 Configuration: the program's offerings |
| The registration details shown with it | 1 Setup: Hide default program text |
| Its More Info button and page | 1 Setup: Hide More Info page |
| The text of its register button | 1 Setup: Enroll Button > Button Text |
| Whether it's in the Highlighted list | 1 Setup: Show on Home Page, or the checkbox icon (Toggle Show on Home Page) on Manage Programs |
| Whether it's listed at all | Manage Programs: the eye icon (Toggle Visibility) |
Changes you save on these admin pages show on your website without republishing, usually within a few minutes. You don't change program details in the Site Editor.
If it doesn't work
- The page is empty, even though programs are open. The Programs widget was deleted from the page. Add it again (steps above) and click Republish.
- A program isn't listed. Check that its eye on Manage Programs is green, that it isn't archived, that its Program Duration hasn't ended, and that its Pgm Status matches the widget's list: Open for Current, Not Open Yet for Upcoming, and Show on Home Page checked for Highlighted.
- You checked Show on Home Page, but the program isn't on your home page. Add a Programs widget that lists Highlighted programs to your home page, or change the existing widget's list to Highlighted, then Republish.
- You want a page or button for one program. A Programs widget always shows a whole list and can't be limited to one program. Link a button to that program's page instead; see CMS: Link a Button to a Specific TeamSideline Program.
- The eye or the Show on Home Page icon can't be clicked. The program is Closed, or your admin role doesn't include changing program visibility. Ask an admin who manages your users.
- A program's picture or description is wrong. Change Program Image or Program Description on its 1 Setup page and click Save.
- A change you made in the Site Editor doesn't show. Click Republish.
Good to know
- Legacy websites list programs on their own, on the home page and on current and upcoming program pages. Editor 2.0 websites list programs only where a Programs widget has been placed.
- TeamSideline doesn't make QR codes for programs. Copy the address of the program's page (its More Info page) from your website and use any QR code generator.
- A hidden program can still be shared privately with a Program Access link; it just isn't listed.
