To hide a program's More Info button and its More Info page on your website, check Hide More Info page under Program Description on the program's 1 Setup page and click Save. To show them again, uncheck the box and save.
Applies to: Admins who can edit a program's 1 Setup page · All plans · Registration programs, on legacy content editor and Editor 2.0 (CMS) websites
Where: Programs > Manage Programs > (program) > 1 Setup > Program Description > Hide More Info page
Hide the More Info button and page
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs.
- Click the program's name, then click 1 Setup.
- Under the Program Description box, check Hide More Info page. It's next to Hide default program text.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "Program has been saved." Refresh your website: the program no longer has a More Info button, and its More Info page is no longer available (on a legacy website, it opens your home page).
To show the button and page again, uncheck Hide More Info page and click Save.
What visitors can't see while the page is hidden
The More Info page (also called the program's More Information page) is the program's own page on your website. It shows the program's picture and description, Program Details (registration status, registration dates, program duration and costs, unless Hide default program text is checked), Frequently Asked Questions, the Enroll, Volunteer and Sponsor buttons, the Offerings table (Offering, Registration Dates, Cost and Status), Add-Ons and, when Show Registered is Yes on 1 Setup, the Registered Teams list. While registration is open, an offering with a Max # of Enrollments shows how many spots are left in its Status, such as "12 Available". No setting hides that count, so hide the More Info page if you don't want it shown.
- The program still appears in your program lists with its picture, name and description, and with its Enroll, Volunteer and Sponsor buttons when they apply, so families can still register.
- Put anything families need to know before they register, such as dates, fees or what's included, in the Program Description.
- Your Frequently Asked Questions still go out in the order confirmation email.
Legacy content editor websites
- The More Info button disappears everywhere the program is listed: the home page's Programs section, your current and upcoming program pages, and a home page Tournament Program section.
- Links to the program's More Info page open your home page instead. That includes program links you inserted from the Programs group of the Links drop-down in pages and emails, and visitors' bookmarks.
- In a Tournament Program section, the tournament's name is still a link to its More Info page, so clicking the name opens your home page.
Editor 2.0 websites (CMS)
TeamSideline passes this setting to the TeamSideline program sections on your Editor 2.0 website. A program's page there has an address ending in /programdetails?programId= followed by the program's number, and Hide More Info page removes that page.
- A button you added in the Site Editor that links to the program's page, such as a Register button, no longer leads to the program. Before you hide the page, change where the button links (for example, to your programs page), or leave Hide More Info page unchecked.
- Program links you inserted in emails from the Programs group of the Links drop-down open the same program page.
- Program settings come from your admin site, so the change shows on your website without republishing, usually within a few minutes.
If it doesn't work
- The More Info button is still there. The box isn't checked, or the change wasn't saved. Check Hide More Info page (a checked box hides the page), click Save, wait for "Program has been saved." and refresh your website. Make sure you changed the right program.
- 3 Preview still shows the program's registration status and dates. The program's 3 Preview page doesn't apply Hide More Info page or Hide default program text. Check your website instead; the program must be visible there.
- Save is grayed out. Your admin role can view 1 Setup but not change it, or the program is archived. Ask an admin who manages your users.
- Families say a program link opens your home page. The link goes to the hidden More Info page. Uncheck Hide More Info page, or replace the link with one to your programs page.
- A button on your Editor 2.0 website no longer leads to the program. It links to the program's page, which is hidden. Uncheck Hide More Info page, or change the button's link in the Site Editor and click Republish.
