Most lists in TeamSideline end with a row of small icons. A black pencil edits the item, a red X deletes it, a black magnifying glass (spyglass) opens its details, and an eye shows whether the item appears on your public website: green when it's shown, red when it's hidden. Point to any icon to see its tooltip, which says what it does.

Icons you'll see in most lists
| Icon | Tooltip | What it does and where you'll see it |
|---|---|---|
| Black pencil on a notepad |
Edit (sometimes more specific, such as Edit Division or Edit Category) | Opens the item so you can change it. On almost every list: programs, divisions, locations, news items, contacts. |
| Red X |
Delete (or Delete Program, Delete Division, Cancel Communication) | Removes the item. Most ask you to confirm first. On lists of contacts, news items, downloads, programs and divisions, and on Communication Logs for an email scheduled for later. |
| Black magnifying glass (spyglass) | View, or what it opens: View Order, View Enrollment, View Responses, View Survey, View Ticket, View Location Availability | Opens the details without editing them. On customer accounts, program dashboards, Entry Forms, Surveys, Contact Us Tickets and Manage Locations. |
| Eye, green or red |
Toggle Visibility (Change Visibility on Downloads) | Green: shown on your public website. Red: hidden. Click it to switch. On News Items, Calendar, Downloads, Sponsors, programs, locations and facilities. |
| Check mark, or an empty square | Toggle Show on Home Page | A check mark means the item is featured on your home page; an empty square means it isn't. Click it to switch. On News Items and Manage Programs. |
| Blue square with a down arrow | More Options | Opens a menu of more actions for that row. On Manage Users, Customer Search, Memberships, Volunteer Management and Facilities. |
| Any icon in light gray | (its usual tooltip) | Turned off: your admin role doesn't allow that action, or it doesn't apply to that item, such as the eye on an archived program. |
Schedule and location icons
- Eye on Leagues & Divisions: each division's eye shows whether its schedule is on your public site. It can be gray, red, green or yellow; the colors are explained in How to show or hide a division's schedule on your public site, below.
-
Box with an arrow (external link): next to a location's name on Manage Locations (blue), and next to a game's location on schedules and the public Locations page. It opens a map of the location in a new tab: Google Maps for the location's address, or the location's own Location URL if one is set.
- Calendar (View Calendar) on Manage Locations: opens that location's calendar. It's green when the public can see the location's calendar, red when Show Calendar is No, and black while the location itself is hidden.
- Orange chain link on Manage Locations: the location is linked to a location of another organization. Point to it to see which one.
- Curved arrows next to a team's name on a schedule: the first and last game of the day at that location (below).
First and last game arrows
On a division's schedule, a small curved arrow pointing up next to the home team's name marks the first game of the day at that location, and an arrow pointing down marks the last game. TeamSideline works this out itself from all of your current leagues' games at the location that day, and skips canceled games. Point to an arrow to see the message you set for it. On printed team rosters they appear as small green arrows. The images below show the two arrows.
They were built for duties such as nets: the first game's coach puts them up and the last game's coach takes them down. To turn them on for a location:
- Go to Schedules > Locations > Manage Locations.
- Click the pencil (Edit) next to the location.
- On the Details tab, check First Game Flag, Last Game Flag or both.
- Type an optional message under each, up to 150 characters, such as "Please set up the nets". It becomes the arrow's tooltip.
- Click Save. You'll see "Location updated."
Repeat for each field that needs them.
Contact and Team Site icons
- Red flag next to an email address: there's a problem with that address, such as a bounce or an unsubscribe, so emails aren't reaching it. The tooltip says why; see What does the red flag next to an email address mean?, below.
-
Gold lock next to a member on a Team Site roster: that member has registered. Members who haven't registered can't see the team calendar or events.
- Orange radio waves, tooltip "Text Enabled": that phone number has signed up for your organization's texts.
- Gold shield next to a team contact on a division's 2 Teams page: the contact has privacy required, so their name doesn't show on the Standings & Results page.
- Orange chain link: something is linked. Next to Sibling Discount Amt or Max $ Per Family on a program's 1 Setup page, the setting is shared with linked programs. On a program's 5 Team Sites page, the Team Site's members are linked, so roster changes flow to the Team Site automatically. On a Team Site's events, it marks a league game, a league-assigned practice or a league shared calendar event.
- Orange star with a green plus, tooltip "This feature is part of an upgraded package.": the setting isn't part of your plan.
Good to know
- An icon's tooltip is the quickest way to tell what it does; it often names the exact action, such as View Order or Delete Division.
- If an icon you expect is missing or gray, your admin role may not include that action. An Administrator can check your role under Administration > Manage Users.
- Clicking an eye changes the public website at once. Hiding an item doesn't delete it.
