Each TeamSideline plan includes a yearly allowance of communication credits: one email credit for each email address a message goes to, and one text credit for each phone number. Credits cover what you send with Communications > Send Communication, start over at the beginning of each subscription year, and can be increased with add-ons.
Applies to: Org admins who send communications · All plans (Core, Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise) · Communications > Send Communication
Where: Communications > Send Communication (credits left); Administration > Subscription (Communication Credits)
Credits by plan
| Plan | Emails per year | Texts per year |
|---|---|---|
| Core | 100,000 | 3,000 |
| Enhanced | 250,000 | 6,000 |
| Elite | 500,000 | 9,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom starting at 750,000 | Custom starting at 12,000 |
Add-ons raise these numbers (see Add more credits, below). Organizations still on an older package keep the allowance that was set up with their package. Your own allowance, including any add-ons, is on Administration > Subscription under Communication Credits, for example "250,000 Emails per year" and "6,000 Text Messages per year".
What uses a credit
- Emails: one email credit for each email address the message is sent to. An email to 400 addresses uses 400 credits. An address that's in more than one of the lists you chose gets the message once (once per team when you include team roster or standings links).
- Texts: one text credit for each phone number, whatever the text's length. A text can be up to 100 characters, or 300 on the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans.
- Only Send Communication counts. Automatic emails, such as order confirmations and payment plan reminders, and messages coaches send from Team Sites don't use your credits.
- A message counts when it goes out. A communication you schedule for later uses credits when it's sent.
How the subscription year works
- Credits are counted from the first day of the month your subscription term starts, for 12 months, and then start over. For example, if your subscription renews in March, your credits run from March 1 through the end of February.
- Unused credits don't carry over to the next year.
- On an older package, Administration > Subscription shows the months instead of a renewal date, for example "Jan - Dec". If no months are on record, credits count by calendar year.
Check how many credits you have left
- Go to Communications > Send Communication.
- Look near the top of the page for two lines: "(number) email credits left. (number) sent." and "(number) text credits left. (number) sent." They count the current subscription year.
Check this before a large send. A communication isn't cut off when it uses up your credits: it goes out to everyone you chose, and the next one is blocked.
When you run out
- Email credits: Send Communication shows "You have exceeded your communication email credits for the subscription period. To add credits, please email support@teamsideline.com" and the Next button is grayed out. You can't send emails or texts until credits are added or your next subscription year starts.
- Text credits: the page shows "You have exceeded your communication text message credits for the subscription period. To add credits, please email support@teamsideline.com". You can still send emails, but the Text Message box no longer appears on Create Your Message.
Add more credits
- Credits come in add-on blocks on top of your plan: each email add-on adds 250,000 emails a year, and each text add-on adds 3,000 texts a year. You can buy more than one.
- To add credits, contact TeamSideline Support, who can also tell you the current price of each add-on. Moving to a higher plan raises your allowance too.
- Once the add-on is on your subscription, the new allowance shows under Communication Credits on Administration > Subscription, and the credits left on Send Communication go up.
Good to know
- Credits belong to your organization, so every admin who sends communications shares the same allowance.
- Text messages also need the Texting permission and members who have opted in to texts.
- If Communication Credits on Administration > Subscription doesn't match your plan or add-ons, contact TeamSideline Support.
