To change your website's menu bar, go to Content > Configurations > Site Pages. Double-click a page to rename it, drag it to a new spot to reorder it, and drag a custom page to Standalone Pages to take it off the menu, or right-click a built-in page and choose Delete Page. Then click Save.

How Site Pages is organized
Site Pages shows your pages as a tree in five groups:
- Menu Pages: the tabs on your menu bar, in menu order, including page groups (drop-down menus).
- Standalone Pages: custom pages that aren't on the menu. Anyone with the page's link can open it.
- User Secured Pages: custom pages visitors must sign in to open.
- Admin Secured Pages: custom pages for your admins. Visitors who aren't signed in are sent to your admin sign-in page.
- Archived Pages: custom pages you've retired. They keep their text but aren't on your menu or in the Links drop-down.
Custom pages are the pages you write in Page Edit. Built-in pages, such as Home, Calendar, Downloads, Game Schedules, Programs and Contact Us, are TeamSideline's standard pages. Menu Pages can also hold Entry Form pages and external tabs that open another website.
Rename a tab
- Go to Content > Configurations > Site Pages.
- Double-click the page's name.
- Type the new name.
- Click anywhere outside the name to finish.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "The changes to your menus have been saved." The tab shows the new name on your website.
You can rename built-in tabs too, for example Downloads or Game Schedules. Only the tab's label changes; the page works the same way. Page groups are renamed the same way.
Reorder tabs or group them in a drop-down
- Drag a page and drop it above or below another page in Menu Pages.
- To make a drop-down menu, right-click Menu Pages and choose Add Page Group. A group named New Tab Group appears; double-click it to rename it.
- Drag pages onto the page group.
- Click Save.
Your menu can be up to three levels deep: tabs on the menu bar, the pages in a page group's drop-down, and the pages in a page group inside that drop-down. On your website, clicking a page group's name opens its first page. A page group has no text of its own, so for a landing page, add a custom page as the group's first page and write its text in Content > Page Edit.
Hide a tab from your menu
- A custom page: drag it into Standalone Pages and click Save. The page stays on your website, so you can still link to it: in Page Edit, the Links/Assets button (or the Links drop-down) lists it under Standalone Pages. To make visitors sign in first, drag it into User Secured Pages or Admin Secured Pages instead.
- A built-in page, an Entry Form page or an external tab: right-click it, choose Delete Page and click Save. Only the tab is removed. To bring back a built-in page or an Entry Form, right-click Menu Pages (or a page group), choose Add Standard Page or Add Entry Form, pick it from the list, put it in place and click Save. An external tab is added again with Add External Tab.
Your menu must keep the built-in Home page. You can rename it, but you can't remove it.
Delete a page or page group
- Right-click the page and choose Delete Page, or right-click a page group and choose Delete Page Group.
- Click Save.
Deleting a custom page deletes the page and its text. If you might want it again, drag it into Archived Pages instead. If you delete one by mistake, contact TeamSideline Support right away.
Add a tab that opens another website
- Click Add External Tab.
- Enter the Tab Name and the External URL, which must begin with http:// or https://.
- Click Add. The tab is added at the end of Menu Pages.
- Drag it into place and click Save.
If it doesn't work
- "You cannot move Standard Pages, Entry Forms, or Page Groups to this level. You may only move Custom Pages here." Only custom pages can go into Standalone, User Secured, Admin Secured or Archived Pages. To hide a built-in page or an Entry Form, delete its tab instead.
- "You cannot move this Page and/or Page Group here. There is a maximum of three levels allowed." Drop it one level higher, or move pages out of the group first.
- "You cannot move this Page and/or Page Group here because this is not a Page Group." You dropped it onto a page. Drop it above or below the page, or onto a page group.
- "You cannot use the name "(name)" because it is already in use on a Custom Page. Reverting back to previous name." Another custom page has that name, whatever the capital letters. Choose a different name.
- "You cannot use the name "(name)" because it contains the character "+"." Leave out the plus sign.
- "You cannot save the menus in their current configuration. You have at least one empty tab group." Drag a page into the empty page group, or delete the group.
- "You cannot save the menus in their current configuration. You must include the Standard Page 'Home' within your menu." Right-click Menu Pages, choose Add Standard Page > Home and click Save.
- Your changes don't show on your website. Make sure you clicked Save and saw "The changes to your menus have been saved." Leaving Site Pages without saving discards your changes.
- You can't open Site Pages. Your admin role doesn't include it. Ask an admin who manages your website.
Good to know
- Renaming a custom page gives it a new web address. Links to it that were added before the rename, for example in other pages, News Items, Sidebar Links or emails, no longer show its content. Insert them again with Page Edit's Links/Assets button or the Links drop-down. Renaming a built-in page or a page group changes only the label.
- Custom page names must be unique and can't contain a plus sign (+). Avoid other symbols, such as & and %, too.
- To add a new custom page to your menu, see the related article on creating custom pages.
- Websites built with Editor 2.0 are edited in the Site Editor instead; this article covers the legacy content editor. Once your organization's new website is live, visitors are sent to it, so changes in Site Pages no longer show.
