Most TeamSideline app errors, such as a service or server error, a blank calendar or a screen that won't load your team, clear up when you update the app to the latest version, or delete and reinstall it. If that doesn't fix it, check TeamSideline's System Status page, then send Support your app version, your phone details and a screenshot.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and team staff · All plans · TeamSideline app for iPhone and Android
Where: The TeamSideline app; the App Store or Google Play (updates); your phone's Settings (notifications)
Step 1: Update the app
- On an iPhone, open the App Store. On an Android phone, open Google Play.
- Search for TeamSideline. If you see Update, tap it. If you only see Open, you already have the latest version.
- Open the app again and check whether the error is gone.
If an update won't download, turn off any VPN on your phone and try again. TeamSideline App Version and Supported Operating Systems lists the current version and the phone software it needs.
Step 2: Check for a known problem
- Open status.teamsideline.com in your phone's browser. It's also the System Status link in the app's Help menu and on TeamSideline web pages.
- If a problem is listed, there's nothing to fix on your phone. Try the app again once it's resolved.
Step 3: Delete and reinstall the app
- Press and hold the TeamSideline icon. On an iPhone, tap Remove App, then Delete App. On Android, tap Uninstall.
- Install TeamSideline again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and sign in with your email address and password.
Reinstalling doesn't delete your account or your teams. They're stored by TeamSideline and come back when you sign in. Reinstalling also helps when the app shows less than the website does for the same sign-in.
Step 4: Sign out, restart and sign in
- Sign out of the app.
- Restart your phone.
- Open the app and sign in again.
Notifications don't arrive
The app notifies you when someone posts in your team's chat, and when TeamSideline sends you an email: that notification reads "You have a new communication" with the email's subject. Email notifications start once you've signed in to the app.
- Make sure you're signed in to the app with the email address on your team's roster.
- Allow notifications for TeamSideline in your phone's settings. On an iPhone, go to Settings > Notifications > TeamSideline and turn on Allow Notifications. On Android, go to Settings > Apps > TeamSideline > Notifications and turn them on (names vary by phone maker).
- Check that a Focus or Do Not Disturb mode isn't silencing them.
- If they still don't arrive, open the app's Debug page (under Account > Help, or Account > Debug in some versions). It shows whether notifications are allowed. Take a screenshot for Support.
Notifications are controlled by your phone's settings for the TeamSideline app.
If it doesn't work
- A team, its games or its chat are missing. You need to be on the team's current roster under the email address you sign in with. See Why can't I see my team in the TeamSideline app? under Related articles.
- Screens look wrong, or text is hard to read. Change the app's display mode (Default, Light or Dark) in its settings, or turn off Dark Mode on your phone.
- You can't sign in, or the app says there's no internet connection when there is. See Can't sign in to the TeamSideline app? (password, reset link, "No Internet Connection").
- The error keeps coming back. Contact TeamSideline Support (below).
What to send TeamSideline Support
Email support@teamsideline.com, or use Contact Support in the app's Help menu, and include:
- What you were doing and what happened, with a screenshot of the error if you can.
- The app Version: in the app, go to Account > Help; the version is under About.
- Your phone's make and model (for example, iPhone 15) and its iOS or Android version.
- For notification or loading problems, a screenshot of the app's Debug page.
- For missing chats or games, the team's name and an example message or game.
Never send your password. Support doesn't need it.
Good to know
- Your app sign-in is your TeamSideline account: the same email address and password you use on your organization's website.
- Registering, paying registration fees and updating family details happen on your organization's website, not in the app.
