The TeamSideline app is a free app for iPhone and Android that keeps your team together once registration is done: team chat, the schedule, attendance, announcements, the roster and more. It isn't for registering, paying registration fees or running your organization. Those happen on your organization's website and, for admins, on the admin site in a web browser.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches, team staff and officials, and admins who are on a team · All plans · TeamSideline app for iPhone and Android
Where: The App Store or Google Play > TeamSideline; sign in with your TeamSideline email address and password
What you can do in the app
Once you sign in, the app lists every team you're on, from every organization that uses TeamSideline. Each team has these pages:
- Chat: message your team in real time, and send photos. Chat is only in the app; the website has no chat.
- Announcements: updates the team's staff or your organization post for the team.
- Roster: the team's players, parents and staff, with the contact details they share.
- Events: games, practices and other team events, with the option to sync them to your own calendar.
- Attendance: answer attendance polls so your coach knows who's coming.
- Links and Files: web links and documents the team's staff share.
- Payments: team fees and who has paid, as the team's staff track them. It doesn't take payments.
- Standings and Stats: standings for your league's games where your team has them, and team and player stats.
Team staff can also add events, announcements, files and links and update the roster from the app. Where your organization uses pitch counts, coaches track them in the app; that's app-only too.
You can also:
- Create a team of your own (a standalone Team Site) and invite people to it.
- Follow a team as Family & Friends when someone on its roster invites you. Followers see fewer pages than the roster does.
- See your game assignments, if you officiate for an organization that uses TeamSideline's Officials module.
What the app isn't for
- Registering players or volunteers, or completing enrollment forms.
- Paying registration fees or updating your family's account details.
- Creating or editing programs and offerings, or managing program configurations.
- Managing organization-wide settings or doing other administrative tasks.
- Your organization's website. The app shows your teams, not the website's pages or news, and it doesn't alert anyone when the website changes.
These are done on your organization's website and, for admins, on the admin site. To get news to everyone, admins send a Communication from Communications > Send Communication.
How registration leads to the app
Registration happens first, on your organization's website. After that:
- Your organization assigns the player, or you as a coach, to a team.
- Your organization publishes the team's Team Site.
- You sign in to the app with the email address on the team's roster. For a youth player, that's the email address of the parent or guardian on the family account that registered the player.
Once these are done, the team appears in the app. If it doesn't, see Why can't I see my team in the TeamSideline app?, under Related articles.
If something goes wrong
- The app shows an error, stays blank or won't load your team. Update the app, check for a known problem and reinstall if needed; the steps are in App Error Troubleshooting.
- You can't sign in. See Can't sign in to the TeamSideline app?
- Your team isn't listed. See Why can't I see my team in the TeamSideline app?
Good to know
- Get the app free on the App Store or Google Play. There's no separate app account: you sign in with the same TeamSideline email address and password you use on your organization's website and on TeamSideline.com.
- Most team information is in both places. Chat and pitch counts are only in the app; the roster's Print View and Player Export are only on the website.
- Admins see only the teams they're on or follow in the app. There's no admin view of every team.
