The TeamSideline app is free in the App Store (iPhone) and on Google Play (Android). Download it, then sign in with the same email address and password you use on your organization's website. Your team appears in the app once your organization publishes the team's site with you on its roster.
Applies to: Parents, adult players, coaches and team staff, and officials · All plans · TeamSideline app for iPhone and Android
Where: App Store or Google Play > TeamSideline; then the app's sign-in screen
Download the app
- On an iPhone, open the App Store. On an Android phone, open Google Play.
- Search for TeamSideline, or go straight to the app: TeamSideline on the App Store or TeamSideline on Google Play.
- Install the app. It's free.
The emails TeamSideline sends you also have App Store and Google Play buttons at the bottom.
- Open the app.
- Sign in with your email address and password. They're the same ones you use on your organization's website and on TeamSideline.com. One TeamSideline account works everywhere, so there's no separate app account to set up.
- When your phone asks whether TeamSideline can send you notifications, allow them.
Use the email address your organization or team has for you. For a youth player, that's the email address of the parent or guardian on the family account that registered the player. Coaches and team staff use the email address on the team's roster, and officials the one on their official profile with the organization.
What you'll see
- Your teams. Every published team site you're on, from every organization that uses TeamSideline. Open a team to see its schedule, roster, attendance, announcements and team chat.
- Teams you follow. Teams someone on the roster invited you to follow with Family & Friends.
- Notifications. Your phone shows a notification when someone posts in your team's chat. When TeamSideline emails you, for example a message from your coach or organization, you also get a notification that says "You have a new communication", with the email's subject.
Officials
If you officiate for an organization that uses TeamSideline's Officials module, the app shows your assignments too.
- Sign in with the email address on your official profile with that organization. TeamSideline connects your official profile to your sign-in by that email address.
- You'll see your pending, requested and confirmed assignments, and you can confirm or decline pending ones.
- If the organization lets officials request games, you can request open games. You can also tell the organization the dates and locations when you aren't available.
If you don't have a password yet
- You registered with your organization. You already have an account under the email address you registered with. If you don't remember the password, click Forgot your password? on your organization's sign-in page, or use the forgot-password link in the app. Open the email you receive and follow its link to set a new password. Use the link within an hour; if it has expired, request a new one.
- You were added to a team but have never signed in. This often happens to coaches and team staff. Create an account with the email address on the roster: on your organization's website, click Sign In, then Create a new account. For a team a coach created on TeamSideline.com, create the account on TeamSideline.com instead.
If it doesn't work
- Your account is new, and the app asks you to validate your email address or shows nothing. A new account must confirm its email address before the app lists any teams. Open the "Validate Your Email Address" email from TeamSideline (check your junk or spam folder) and click its link, then sign in to the app again. If you can't find the email, sign in on your organization's website: it sends the email again. You only do this once.
- Your email address or password isn't accepted. Check for typos: passwords are case sensitive. TeamSideline passwords are 6 to 15 characters, with at least one letter and one number. If you aren't sure of your password, reset it with Forgot your password? as described above.
- You're signed in, but your team isn't listed. Your organization hasn't published the team's site yet, or the roster has a different email address for you. Sign in with the email address on the roster. If the team still isn't there, see Why don't I see my team after I sign in?
- No notifications arrive. Turn on notifications for TeamSideline in your phone's settings, and make sure you're signed in to the app.
- Officials: your assignments aren't there. The email address on your official profile must match the one you sign in with. Ask the organization that assigns your games to check it.
Good to know
- If you change your password on your organization's website, use the new password in the app too: it's the same account.
- Registering for programs, paying registration fees and updating your family's details are done on your organization's website, not in the app.
- Youth players don't have their own sign-in. A player can sign in with a parent's email address and password; see Can I Add an Email to a Child/Player Profile? (Player App Access and Communications).
- Organization admins set up registration, schedules and the website on the admin site in a web browser. The app is for following and running teams, and for officiating.
- For the current app version and the phone operating systems it supports, see TeamSideline App Version and Supported Operating Systems.
