To send visitors straight to one program, add a Button in the Site Editor and link it to that program's page on your Editor 2.0 website: the page whose address ends in /programdetails?programId= followed by the program's number. Copy the address from the program's More Info button on your website, then click Republish.
Applies to: Org admins who use the Site Editor · Editor 2.0 (CMS) websites · Registration programs that are visible on your website
Where: Content > Site Editor (the button); the program's page on your public website (its address)
Before you start
- The program must be visible on your website: its eye icon on Programs > Manage Programs is green.
- The admin site doesn't show a program's web address or program number, so you copy the address from your public website.
- Leave Hide More Info page unchecked on the program's 1 Setup. That setting removes the program page this button links to.
Step 1: Copy the program's address
- Open your public website and go to a page that lists your programs.
- Find the program and click its More Info button (on some websites it reads More Information).
- When the program's page opens, click in your browser's address bar and copy the whole address. It looks like https://yourleague.org/programdetails?programId=123456.
Tip: press Ctrl+C on Windows or Command+C on a Mac to copy.
Step 2: Add the button in the Site Editor
- In the admin site, go to Content > Site Editor.
- Open the page where you want the button.
- Click + Add on the left and drag a Button onto the page.
- Click the button and type its text, such as Register Now or Spring 2027 Registration.
- In the button's Link settings, choose URL and paste the program's address.
- Choose whether the link opens in the same window or a new window, then click Save.
- Click Republish so the button appears on your live website.
What you'll see: on your live website, the button opens the program's page, where visitors see its details and can register while its registration is open.
List current and upcoming programs instead
To list programs rather than link to one, add a Programs section to a page. Editor 2.0 websites don't have the automatic Current Programs and Upcoming Programs pages that legacy websites had. A Programs section shows one of three lists:
- Highlighted (the standard choice): programs with the highlight box checked via Manage Programs.
- Current programs: Pgm Status Open.
- Upcoming programs: Pgm Status Not Open Yet.
For separate current and upcoming lists, add two Programs sections to one page, one for each list, or put them on two pages, then Republish. Only programs that are visible and not archived are listed.
If it doesn't work
- The program isn't in your website's Programs section. It's hidden (a red eye on Manage Programs), archived, or not part of that section's list: a home page list shows only programs with Show on Home Page checked. Make the program visible, check Show on Home Page, or use a section that lists current or upcoming programs.
- The program has no More Info button. Hide More Info page is checked on its 1 Setup, which also removes its page. Uncheck it and click Save. How to hide a program's More Info button and page explains the setting.
- The button no longer leads to the program. Someone checked Hide More Info page or hid the program. Undo the change, or link the button somewhere else and Republish.
- The button opens your home page. It links to a page on your legacy website, such as an address ending in /current-programs or /upcoming-programs. Once your Editor 2.0 website is live, legacy pages send visitors to your new home page. Replace the link with the program's address.
- Your change doesn't show on the live website. Click Republish in the Site Editor.
- "Content Site has not been set up." You see this when you open Content > Site Editor before your organization's Editor 2.0 website has been created. Contact TeamSideline Support.
Good to know
- The address belongs to that program. When you copy a program for a new season, the copy gets a new program number, so update the button to the new program's address.
- A program's dates, fees and description come from your admin site, so the program page updates without republishing.
- In an email, the Programs group of the Links drop-down inserts the same program page address once your Editor 2.0 website is live.
