When TeamSideline updates its Terms or Privacy Policy, you're asked to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in. Admins must accept before they can use the admin site. Parents, players and coaches usually get a grace period first.
Applies to: Org admins, parents, players and coaches · All plans · Signing in on the web
Where: The Admin Terms page after Admin Sign In (admins), or the notice after Sign In on your organization's site (parents and players)
For admins: the Admin Terms page
If you owe an updated document, you're taken to the Admin Terms page right after you sign in. The box at the top says why:
- "Please review and accept the admin site terms to proceed." A new version was published, or this is your first sign-in to this organization's admin site.
- "The name on this account has changed. Please review and accept the Terms again to confirm your account details." The name on your account is different from the name on your last acceptance.
- "You have been added to this organization since you last accepted. Please review and accept the Terms again to confirm your access." Another admin added you back to this organization.
If you owe more than one document, such as the Terms and the Privacy Policy, they appear together, each under its own heading, and one Accept covers them all.
How to accept
- 1. Read the text in the box. If a View the full document link appears, it opens the complete document in a new tab.
- 2. If Accept is grayed out, scroll to the end of the text. Some versions ask you to read to the end first, and you'll see "Please read to the end of the text above before accepting." under the buttons.
- 3. Click Accept. You go to the admin Home page.
What you'll see
- Until you accept, every admin page brings you back to Admin Terms.
- Cancel signs you out, and you see "You are now signed out. Thank you for using TeamSideline." You'll be asked again at your next sign-in.
- Messages that wait for you at sign-in, such as an unpaid invoice notice, appear on Home after you accept.
- If you manage more than one organization, you accept in each one, the first time you sign in to its admin site after an update.
For parents, players and coaches
- During the grace period, a notice appears after you sign in, for example "Our Terms and Privacy Policy have been updated. Please review and accept the changes." Click the link in the notice to read and accept. You can keep using the site, and the notice comes back each time you sign in until you accept.
- After the grace period, you're taken to the Terms of Service page after you sign in, and you can't continue until you accept. Cancel signs you out.
- When you create an account, each document has its own checkbox, and you must check every box to finish: "You must agree to each of the terms documents shown to complete registration."
You may also be asked again if the name on your account changes, for example "The name on your account has changed since you last accepted our Terms. Please review and accept them again."
Why you're asked again
- A new version was published. Everyone accepts the new version once.
- Your name changed. Each acceptance records the name of the person who accepted. When a shared account changes hands and the name is updated, the new person accepts in their own name.
- You were added back to an organization after you last accepted, such as an admin who left and returned.
Good to know
- TeamSideline records each acceptance with the date and time, the exact document version, the name on the account, and the internet address and browser used, so it can show who agreed to what and when.
- You can read TeamSideline's Privacy Policy at any time from the Privacy Policy link at the bottom of admin and team site pages.
- TeamSideline staff who sign in to help you are never asked to accept on your behalf. Only you can accept.
- The admin terms have no grace period. If you need the admin site right away, accept when prompted.
- The TeamSideline mobile app doesn't ask you to accept the terms.
If it doesn't work
- Accept stays grayed out. Scroll inside the text box all the way to the bottom.
- You keep getting asked. Each organization you manage asks once. If the same organization asks at every sign-in, contact support@teamsideline.com with your email address and the organization's name.
