TeamSideline connects to ActiveNet, Amilia and Rec Tech (registrations come in), Xplor / PerfectMind (games go out), Payrix (card payments), calendar apps, background check providers, several sport associations and the TeamSideline app. It has no open API for building your own integrations: a read-only schedules API is available on request, and for anything else you ask TeamSideline.
Applies to: Org admins · All plans; the registration integrations need the Enterprise plan and their module · All program types
Where: Programs > Manage Programs > (program) > 2 Configuration (integration buttons); Reports > Report Exports; Administration > Subscription > Summary (Modules)
What connects to TeamSideline
| Connection | What it does | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| ActiveNet, Amilia, Rec Tech | Copies registrations from that system into a TeamSideline program about once a day, so you can build rosters, Team Sites and schedules. One-way: nothing is sent back. | The Enterprise plan and that system's module. TeamSideline sets up the connection. |
| Xplor / PerfectMind | Sends your games to the matching facilities' calendars in Xplor (PerfectMind) as bookings, titled with the division and the two teams, with the start and end time. Game comments and notes aren't sent. | The Enterprise plan and the Xplor / PerfectMind module, with each location matched to its Xplor location and facility. |
| Payrix | Card payments when families check out on your website, and in person on a Payrix card terminal. Payrix is the only card processor TeamSideline works with: other processors, such as your bank's own, can't be connected. | Your own Payrix merchant account, set up with TeamSideline Support. |
| Calendar apps | Subscribe links for a division's schedule, your organization's calendar and each person's team site calendar, which any calendar app that subscribes by web address can read. One-way. | Nothing to set up. |
| The TeamSideline app | Team chat, schedules, attendance and rosters on iPhone and Android, with the same TeamSideline sign-in. | Nothing to set up. |
| Background checks | Background checks through Protect Youth Sports (and WYS Risk Management for WYS members), with results on the Background Checks report dashboard. Results from elsewhere can be imported. | The PYS Background Check module (or WYS), added by TeamSideline. |
| Sport associations | USA Lacrosse membership checks at registration (Req. Membership on an offering), and exports and imports in the association's own format for USA Softball, GotSport and Babe Ruth. | The association's package, added by TeamSideline. |
How the registration integrations work, and what they copy, is in How registration integrations sync with TeamSideline (ActiveNet, Amilia, Rec Tech). Card payments are in How card payments work in TeamSideline (Payrix): setup, fees and payouts.
Getting your data out
To use TeamSideline data in another system, export it: Reports > Report Exports gives you spreadsheets of your registrations, rosters, games and payments, with the columns you choose. Schedules also go out through calendar subscriptions, and your website shows them to the public.
The TeamSideline API
TeamSideline has no general or open API, and no API that adds or changes data, so registrations, rosters, user accounts and game assignments can't be automated from outside. The one exception is a read-only Schedules API, available on request and not part of any plan:
- It lists your organization's active leagues and divisions, and returns each schedule's teams, standings and games (dates, times, locations and fields, scores, status and comments).
- A program signs in as an API user that TeamSideline adds to your organization with only the API Access role, using an email address you control that isn't already a TeamSideline sign-in. You set its password with "Forgot your password?" on Admin Sign In, so nobody at TeamSideline knows it.
- The API user counts as one of your plan's admin users.
- The data includes team contacts' names, email addresses and phone numbers, and the games' internal comments, so keep it for your organization's own use.
How to request an integration or the API
- Email support@teamsideline.com, or your TeamSideline account representative, with the system you want to connect and what it should do.
- For ActiveNet or Rec Tech, TeamSideline works with your account representative at that company to get the connection details. For Amilia, you create a read-only API key in Amilia; see How to create Amilia API keys for the TeamSideline integration.
- Send any key, secret or password only through the Secure Inbox link TeamSideline Support sends you, never by email or in a ticket.
- TeamSideline adds the module (or the API user) to your site and lets you know. Sign out and sign back in to see the integration's buttons.
For a system that isn't listed here, describe what you need: Support tells you whether one of these connections or an export can do it.
If it doesn't work
- There's no ActiveNetwork Configuration, Amilia Configuration or Rec Tech Configuration button on a program's 2 Configuration page. The connection isn't set up yet, your plan or modules don't include it, or the program type can't be linked (Youth Camp Registration programs can't). Contact TeamSideline Support.
- The API answers with 401 Unauthorized. The API user's email address or password is wrong, or the password was reset since your program was set up.
- The API returns an empty list. The API user doesn't hold the API Access role in your organization any more, or you have no active leagues.
Good to know
- Each connection works in one direction only, as the table shows. For example, a refund or withdrawal in ActiveNet, Amilia or Rec Tech doesn't reach TeamSideline, so make it in TeamSideline too.
- The registration integrations and Xplor / PerfectMind are part of the Enterprise plan. On another plan, ask TeamSideline about adding one.
- Calendar subscriptions refresh at most every 10 minutes, and your calendar app checks them on its own schedule. See Calendar subscription not updating or empty? Troubleshooting TeamSideline calendar feeds.
