A schedule shows in three places, and each has its own switch. On your website, the division's eye icon on Schedules > Leagues & Divisions must be on (green or yellow). On Team Sites and in the TeamSideline app, the schedule must also be published or linked to each team's site, and the person must be on that team's roster. Work through the checks below.
Applies to: Admins and schedulers · All plans · League divisions, and Team Sites for registration programs
Where: Schedules > Leagues & Divisions (eye icon); Programs > Manage Programs > (program) > 5 Team Sites
First, check that the schedule is saved
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, open the division's More Options menu and choose 4 Create Schedule. If you see a Create button, there's no schedule yet.
- If you changed games, click Calc & Save. Calculate only previews changes; they aren't saved, or shown anywhere, until you click Calc & Save.
Not on your website
- On Schedules > Leagues & Divisions, find the division's eye icon.
- If it's red, click it so it turns green. A new division's schedule starts hidden, and creating it doesn't change that.
- If it's yellow, click the division's Edit Division icon, open 1 Configuration > Display, set Show Game Section to Yes and Show # of Sched. Wks to All (or a higher number), and click Save.
- For practices, set Show Practice Section on the same page to Show Above Schedule or Show Below Schedule, and click Save.
- For a 2nd Half schedule, click the division's second eye (the 2nd Half eye) so it turns green.
What you'll see: the division is listed with your website's schedules and its page shows the games. Someone opening a saved link to a hidden division sees "The League Administrator has de-activated the Standings & Schedule for the Division you have linked to." Divisions in archived leagues don't show at all.
Not on Team Sites or in the app
Team Sites and the app show a league's games only on teams whose sites are linked to the schedule. For a league that belongs to a registration program, you publish the schedule to the team sites:
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs and click the program's name.
- Click 5 Team Sites.
- Check the Team Site column: a gray icon ("Team Site Published") means the team's site is published, and a green one means it isn't yet.
- In the Regular, 2nd Half, Playoff or Practice column, click the green icon (for example "Publish Regular Schedule") on each team's row, or on the division's row to publish to all of its published teams. The icon turns gray, for example "Regular Schedule Published".
- Go back to Schedules > Leagues & Divisions and make sure the division's eye is on. Upcoming regular-season and playoff games appear on Team Sites and in the app only while it's green or yellow, and only for the weeks Show # of Sched. Wks allows. 2nd Half games follow the 2nd Half eye.
What you'll see: the games appear on each team's site and in the app. Once a schedule is published, later changes reach the team sites without publishing again; 4 Create Schedule notes "Since the Regular Season Game Schedule for one or more Team Sites have been published for this Division, changes to the Schedule will automatically be updated in published Team Sites."
Leagues that don't come from a registration program
When teams aren't created by one of your programs, their staff link your schedule themselves. On their team site's Events page, they click Manage Linked Schedules, then Find Schedules to Add, and search by Team Name and Organization Name. Your division appears in that search only while its eye is on and its league isn't archived.
Check the person's access
A coach or parent sees a team in the app, and under Team Sites on your website, only when they're on its roster under the email address they sign in with. See Why can't a coach or parent see their team in the app or on Team Sites?
If it doesn't work
- "Cannot publish schedule because there are no events. Please confirm the schedule has been created and is ready to be published." The division doesn't have that schedule yet (for Practice, the team has no practices). Create it, then publish again.
- A team has no Publish Team Site icon. It doesn't have the players or staff it needs yet. See How To Publish Team Sites for Individual Registration.
- Some games are missing on Team Sites and in the app. Games in a TBD time slot don't appear there until you give them a real time slot on 4 Create Schedule. Games past the Show # of Sched. Wks limit don't appear until you raise it.
- Families see only some weeks on your website. Show # of Sched. Wks is set to a number. 4 Create Schedule always shows every week, so check this setting even when the schedule looks complete to you.
- Games show twice on a team site. See How To Remove Duplicate Games in the Team Site.
- The eye can't be clicked. Your admin role doesn't include managing schedules. Ask an Administrator.
- It's still missing. Contact TeamSideline Support (Help > Contact Support, or support@teamsideline.com) with the league, division and team, where the schedule is missing (website, team site or app) and a screenshot.
Good to know
- Hiding a division doesn't remove its teams from Team Sites or the app; it hides upcoming games. Games that are no longer Not played (played, forfeited, canceled or being scored) still show there, and linked practices aren't affected by the eye.
- Creating a schedule never makes it visible. The eye only has to be turned on once; later schedules and changes in that division follow it.
- On the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans, Update Multiple Divisions on Leagues & Divisions (Update Type: Visibility) shows or hides many divisions at once.
- For what each eye color means, see What do the schedule visibility (eye) icon colors mean?
