The TeamSideline app uses the same email address and password as your organization's website. If the app won't sign you in, try the same email address and password on the website first, reset the password there if it doesn't work, then update or reinstall the app.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and team staff · All plans · TeamSideline app for iPhone and Android
Where: The app's sign-in screen; your organization's website > Sign In > Forgot your password?
Step 1: Test your sign-in on the website
- On your phone's browser or a computer, go to your organization's website and click Sign In.
- Enter the email address and password you use in the app and click Sign In.
What you'll see: if the website signs you in, your password is right; go to Step 3. If it doesn't, reset your password (Step 2).
Step 2: Reset your password
- On your organization's website, click Sign In, then Forgot your password?. You can also use the forgot-password link in the app.
- Enter the email address you registered with and click Submit.
- Open the reset email from TeamSideline and click its link within an hour. If you asked more than once, use the newest email.
- Type your new password in Password and Confirm Password and click Submit. It must be 6 to 15 characters, with at least one letter and one number, and can't contain <, > or &.
- Sign in to the app with your email address and the new password.
If the reset email doesn't come, check your spam and junk folders, and try any other email address you might have registered with: TeamSideline sends a link only to an address that has an account.
Step 3: Type your password instead of pasting it
- TeamSideline passwords are 15 characters at most, and the website's sign-in box holds 15 characters. A pasted password can bring along a space or other hidden characters that cut off the end.
- Passwords are case sensitive, so check your capital letters.
- If your phone or a password manager fills in a password, clear it and type the one you just set.
Step 4: Use the right email address
- Sign in with the email address on your TeamSideline account. For a youth player, that's the email address of the parent or guardian on the family account.
- If you have two TeamSideline accounts, for example with a personal and a work email address, each has its own password. Sign in with the one your team's roster has.
- Changing one account's email address to the other's doesn't combine the two accounts.
Step 5: New account? Confirm your email address
A new account must confirm its email address before the app shows your teams. Until then, signing in to the app shows "Account Pending" ("Check your email!"), with a note asking you to add no-reply@teamsideline.com to your contacts so you receive TeamSideline's emails. If you created the account in the app or on a Team Site's Register page, TeamSideline sent you an "Activate Your Account" email, and signing in before you activate sends a "Validate Your Email Address" email. Open either one (check your spam or junk folder), click its link, then sign in to the app again. If you can't find the email, sign in on your organization's website, and TeamSideline sends it again. If the email never arrives or its link doesn't work, contact TeamSideline Support, who can activate your account.
Step 6: Update or reinstall the app
- In the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), search for TeamSideline and tap Update if it appears.
- If signing in still fails, delete the app, install it again and sign in. Reinstalling doesn't delete your account or your teams.
"No Internet Connection" when you're online
The app can say it has no internet connection when it actually couldn't get your information from TeamSideline. Work through these checks:
- Open a website in your phone's browser to make sure you're online.
- Check status.teamsideline.com for a known problem.
- Update the app, or delete and reinstall it (Step 6).
- Turn off any VPN on your phone, or switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data.
- Sign in again. If the message keeps coming back, contact TeamSideline Support with your app version and phone details, as App Error Troubleshooting describes.
If it doesn't work
- "Login failed. Please make sure your email address and password were entered correctly, and try again. Note: Passwords are case sensitive." (website) The email address and password don't match. Reset the password (Step 2) or try another email address you may have used.
- "Too many sign in attempts. Click the "Forgot your password?" link below to reset your password." (website) Too many failed tries have blocked the website's sign-in for a while. Completing a password reset lifts the block.
- "This password reset request has expired." The link is more than an hour old. Request a new one and use it right away.
- You're signed in, but your team isn't there. See Why can't I see my team in the TeamSideline app?
Good to know
- Changing your password on the website changes it in the app too: it's the same account.
- No one at your organization or at TeamSideline can see your password, so never send it to anyone. If you're still stuck, contact your organization with the Contact Us link on its website.
- Youth players don't have their own sign-in. A player can sign in with a parent's email address and password.
