TeamSideline allows administrators to create rosters, game cards, and scoresheets that display player jersey numbers and jersey sizes.
Jersey information can be displayed through Reports > Report Viewer on reports such as:
- Basic Roster
- Safe Roster Report
- TeamSideline Game Card
- Scoresheets
- Other Report Viewer reports
Important: Jersey # and Jersey Size information configured using these options is available for Report Viewer reports only. This information does not populate Team Sites.
Adding Jersey Numbers
There are two ways to add Jersey # information to players:
Option 1: Collect Jersey Numbers During Registration (Enrollment Field)
If you want parents/customers to enter jersey numbers during registration, create an enrollment field for Jersey #.
The enrollment field should be named:
- Jersey #
- Jersey Number
The information entered during enrollment will automatically populate the player's jersey number on supported Report Viewer reports.
This option is best when:
- Jersey numbers are assigned before registration is completed
- Parents should provide their player's jersey number
- You want the information collected as part of enrollment
Note: If you also create a Player Custom Field for Jersey #, the system will prioritize the Custom Field value over the Enrollment Field value.
Option 2: Import Jersey Numbers After Players Are Created (Player Custom Field)
If jersey numbers are assigned after registration by the organization or you need to upload jersey numbers in bulk, use a Player Custom Field.
Step 1: Create the Jersey # Custom Field
Go to:
Administration > Configurations > Custom Fields
Create a Custom Field with the following settings:
- Field Name: Jersey #
- Field Type: Text
- Length: Two or three characters
- Category: Player
After the Custom Field is created, administrators can manually enter jersey numbers on player accounts or use the import process.
You can also configure the field so that only administrators can edit jersey numbers.
Step 2: Export Player Information
- Go to:
Reports > Reports Export - Run an Account Information or Enrollment Information report.
- Include:
- Player ID - TeamSideline
- Player First Name
- Player Last Name
The Player ID - TeamSideline value is required for the import.
Step 3: Import Jersey Numbers
- Go to:
Administration > Import Data - Click the Excel icon to open the Player Custom Field Import template.
- Add:
- Player ID - TeamSideline
- Jersey #
- Save the completed file.
- Click the Player Custom Field Import link on the Import Data page.
- Complete the import.
Once the import is complete, jersey numbers will appear on supported Report Viewer reports.
Adding Jersey Sizes
Jersey Size information is pulled from an enrollment field.
The enrollment field must be named one of the following:
- Jersey Size
- Jersey Sizes
- Shirt Size
- Shirt Sizes
The jersey size entered during registration will automatically display on supported reports.
Note: If you create a Custom Field for Jersey Size under:
Administration > Configurations > Custom Fields
the Custom Field value will take priority over the Enrollment Field value.
Viewing Rosters with Jersey Numbers and Sizes
To view a roster with jersey information:
- Go to:
Reports > Report Viewer - Select and launch the desired report.
- Confirm the report includes:
- Player Name
- Jersey #
- Jersey Size
Available reports include:
- Basic Roster
- Safe Roster Report
- TeamSideline Game Card
- Scoresheets
Note: If you want to use this also for adults/parents, then do the following.
- As an Admin, create a custom field named "Jersey #" (notice there are two spaces between "Jersey" and "#") as a two or three character Text field with a category of Parent. Custom Fields functionality is at Administration > Configurations > Custom Fields. Note: The field must be named "Jersey #" in order for the Report Viewer reports to work correctly.
- After the custom field is added, parents or admins can add the Jersey # to the parent account. Note: You can also setup the custom field to not be editable so that only the league admins can update this data.
- If you want to add Jersey #s to the parent accounts in bulk, run an Account Information or Enrollment Information report so you can get the "Parent First Name" and "Parent Last Name" for each adult. You can find these reports at Report > Reports Export .
- Add a new column to the Excel file for the "Jersey #". Save as a CSV file.
- Go to Administration > Import Data and click the "Parent Custom Field Import" link on the Import Data page to import the Jersey #s.
- After the import is complete, the Jersey #s will be visible on the Report Viewer reports.
