Pricing Type is chosen once, when you add a Youth Registration program: Standard Pricing gives each offering its own price, with optional early and late prices, sibling discounts, coupons and payment plans. Tiered Pricing charges one price for the whole program that depends on the date and on how many children the family registers in the same order.

How the two pricing types compare
| Feature | Standard Pricing | Tiered Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Where prices are set | Each offering's Regular Reg. Fee on 2 Configuration | Registration Pricing Tiers on 1 Setup, for every offering at once |
| Prices by date | Early Reg. Fee and Late Reg. Fee on each offering | Up to five date periods, each with its own prices |
| More than one child | Sibling Discount Amt comes off each additional child, and Max $ Per Family can cap the total | A total price for 1, 2, 3 or 4 children registered in the same order |
| Registration dates | Each offering's Reg. Duration | From the first row's Start Date to the End Date on the last row, for every offering |
| Coupons | Yes | No |
| Payment plans | Yes (Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise) | No |
| Waitlist | Yes | No |
| Non-Resident Fee (Elite and Enterprise) | Yes | No |
| Volunteer Reg. dates and Disable Sib. Discount on offerings | Yes | No |
Both types keep each offering's Max # of Enrollments and its age, grade and gender rules.
What families pay at checkout
Standard Pricing
- Each participant's line shows their offering's price for the current period: early, regular or late.
- With a sibling discount, every child after the first gets the Sibling Discount Amt off, either across this program and its linked programs or within the same offering. Siblings already registered in an earlier order count too.
- Coupon codes, Partial Pay and payment plans work as set up for the program.
Tiered Pricing
- The cart counts the children registered for this program in the order, finds that number's price for today's date period, and puts the whole price on the first child's line. The other children show $0.
- Only children in the same order count. A family who registers a second child in a later order pays the 1 Child price again.
- The last price you fill in on a row applies to that many children or more. If you fill in only 1 Child, every family pays that price whatever the number of children.
- Your program's page shows a Registration Fee Schedule with each date range's Number Of Children, Cost and Status.
Example: Row 1 starts March 1 with 1 Child $100, 2 Children $190 and 3 Children $270; Row 2 starts April 1 with 1 Child $120, 2 Children $220 and 3 Children $310; the End Date is May 1. Two children registered together on March 10 cost $190: $190 on the first child and $0 on the second. Four children registered together then cost $270, because 3 Children is the last price filled in. The same two children cost $220 on April 5.
Choose the pricing type
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs and click Add Program.
- In Registration Type, choose Youth Registration.
- In Sport, choose the sport.
- In Pricing Type, choose Standard Pricing or Tiered Pricing.
- Click Next. 1 Setup opens.
The Pricing Type can't be changed after this step. To switch, add a new program.
Set up Tiered Pricing prices
- On 1 Setup, scroll to Registration Pricing Tiers.
- On the first row, enter the Start Date and the 1 Child price. Enter the 2 Children, 3 Children and 4 Children prices as the total for that many children, not a price per child: for $80 per child for two, enter $160.
- To change prices on a later date, enter a later Start Date and its prices on the next row.
- On the last row, enter the End Date.
- Fill in the rest of 1 Setup and click Save.
- Add your offerings on 2 Configuration. They have no fees or registration dates of their own.
Each row's prices apply from its Start Date until the next row's Start Date. Registration closes as the End Date begins, so enter the day after the last day families can register.
Which one to use
- Choose Standard Pricing when offerings cost different amounts, or when you want coupons, payment plans, a waitlist, early or late prices per offering, or a sibling discount that counts children registered at different times.
- Choose Tiered Pricing when every offering costs the same and you want a family price for two, three or four children registered together, with prices that change by date.
- Neither type limits a price to the first registrants. For a "first 200 players" price, use a separate offering with its own Max # of Enrollments.
If it doesn't work
- "Registration Pricing Tier: Row 1 Start Date Required." or "Registration Pricing Tier: Row 1 "1 Child Cost" Required." Fill in the first row's Start Date and 1 Child price.
- "Registration Pricing Tier: Start Dates must be after each other." Each row's Start Date must be later than the row above.
- "Registration Pricing Tier: End Date Required." or "Registration Pricing Tier: The End Date must be after the last Start Date." Enter an End Date after the last Start Date.
- Registration was free during one period. A row with a Start Date but no 1 Child price lets one child register for free during that period, and a row with no prices at all charges nothing. Give every row with a Start Date its prices.
- Pricing Type isn't offered on Add Program. Only Youth Registration programs have it. Team Registration plus Roster programs have their own Pricing Type step for team and roster fees.
- There's no Coupons section, Enable Waitlist is grayed out, or there's no Sibling Discount, Max $ Per Family or Late Registration Fee on 1 Setup. The program uses Tiered Pricing.
- "You cannot mix Registration Periods in Cart." In Place Order, every registration for a Tiered Pricing program in one order must use the same tier.
Good to know
- Admins registering someone with Place Order choose the tier in Registration Period, whatever today's date is.
- Because the whole price is on the first child's registration, canceling another child's $0 registration doesn't refund anything by itself.
