Overview
The Age As Of Date determines the date on which a player's age is calculated for age validation and reporting. It is set per Offering on a Program's 2 Configuration page, not at the site or organization level. This article explains how to set the Age As Of Date on a single Offering, how to update many Offerings at once, and why (in parent/child organization structures) each child organization must set its own date.
Where the Age As Of Date Lives
The Age As Of Date is part of each Offering's Age Validation configuration. Because it is per-Offering, a single Program can have Offerings with different Age As Of Dates (for example, a different date for boys vs. girls, or for different age groups).
Before you can set an Age As Of Date, Age Validation must be enabled for the Program:
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs.
- Open the 1 Setup page of the Program.
- Change Age Validation Type to Age as of.
- Click Save.
Set the Age As Of Date on One Offering
- Open the Program and go to the 2 Configuration page.
- Click Add Offering, or click the edit icon on an existing Offering.
- Enter the Age as of Date — the date on which each player's age must fall within the specified range.
- Set the Age Restriction Action to control what happens if a player is outside the age range:
- Prevent — the player cannot register into that Offering (and will not see it as available).
- Warning — the player can register but sees a warning message.
- None — the player can register with no warning.
- Enter the age range for the Offering.
- Click Save.
Important: Setting an Age As Of Date has no effect unless age ranges and a Restriction Action are also configured. In one support case, an added date did nothing until the organization logged in and set the Restriction (Prevent) and age ranges.
Update Multiple Offerings at Once (Bulk Update)
If you need to apply the same Age As Of Date to every Offering in a Program, you do not have to edit each Offering individually:
- Open the Program and go to the 2 Configuration page.
- Click the Update Multiple Offerings button.
- Update the Age As Of Date (and other shared fields as needed).
- Save your changes.
This same screen is commonly used to update shared Offering fields across a Program in one step.
