AI Auto Resolve Settings control the limits and priorities AI Auto Resolve follows when it moves games. Set a default for your organization, and give any league its own settings. These settings don't change standard Auto Resolve. Its options are on the Auto Resolve panel, described at the end of this article.
Open the settings
Go to Schedules > Configurations > AI Auto Resolve Settings. The page opens with the title Auto Resolve Settings.

Choose the organization default or a league
- In Scheduling League, choose Organization Default to set what every league uses. To give one league its own settings, choose that league instead.
- If the league is still using the organization default, you'll see "These settings currently match the Organization Default. Saving will create a custom override for this league."
- Change the settings, then click Save. You'll see "Auto Resolve Settings saved."
Once a league has its own settings, it keeps them, even if you change the organization default later. To switch a league back, choose it, click Reset to Organization Default, and confirm. This deletes the league's own settings and can't be undone.
Game Settings
These are limits AI Auto Resolve follows when it moves games. It only moves games that are already on your schedule, and it never adds a game to reach a minimum. Each setting takes a whole number from 0 to 99, and all five start at 0. What 0 means is different for each one.
| Setting | 0 means | Any other number |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum Games Per Day Per Team | No minimum | Auto Resolve won't move a game to another day if that leaves either team with fewer games than this on the original day |
| Maximum Games Per Day Per Team | No daily limit | The most games a team can have in one day. Enter 1 to prevent doubleheaders |
| Minimum Games Per Week Per Team | No minimum | Auto Resolve won't move a game out of a week if that leaves either team below this many games that week. It doesn't fill in weeks that are already short |
| Maximum Games Per Week Per Team | Use each division's Games per Week/Team setting | Replaces the division's setting for Auto Resolve only. A higher number gives Auto Resolve room to add a game to a team's week to clear a conflict |
| Weeks Auto Resolve May Extend The Schedule | Auto Resolve can't add weeks | How many weeks past your last scheduled game Auto Resolve may use for a game it can't fit anywhere else |
Every setting needs a value. If a maximum is above 0, its minimum can't be higher than the maximum. A minimum above 0 can stop Auto Resolve from moving a team's only game of that day or week, so leave minimums at 0 unless you need them.
Optimization Priorities
AI Auto Resolve looks for a schedule that satisfies every priority you include. When a game has nowhere left to go, it gives way on the included priority lowest in the list first. Put the priorities you least want broken at the top.
- Check Include to use a priority. If a priority isn't included, AI Auto Resolve ignores those conflicts completely.
- Drag a row to change the order.
| Priority | What it does in AI Auto Resolve |
|---|---|
| Resolve Team Team/Player Schedule Conflicts | Currently has no effect. AI Auto Resolve checks for teams booked twice at the same time whether or not this is included |
| Resolve Team Specific Day Schedule Conflicts | Keeps games off the specific dates and times a team can't play, as entered in the team's schedule conflicts on the 2 Teams page |
| Resolve Multi Team Coach Conflicts | Keeps games for coaches with more than one team from overlapping, and leaves time to travel between them. Applies only if your organization uses multi-team coaches |
All three are included by default, in the order shown. So by default, multi-team coach conflicts give way first. These priorities aren't related to the Optimization Priority setting on 1 Configuration, which only affects creating a schedule.
Some rules never give way, whatever you choose. AI Auto Resolve doesn't give way on teams booked twice at the same time, closed locations, or holiday dates. It also never moves a locked, played, or cancelled game, and never moves a game into a week you blocked.
Suggested settings
- Keep your season's end date: leave Weeks Auto Resolve May Extend The Schedule at 0.
- Avoid doubleheaders: set Maximum Games Per Day Per Team to 1.
- Clear more conflicts: raise Maximum Games Per Week Per Team by 1, or allow 1 extra week.
Standard Auto Resolve options
Standard Auto Resolve doesn't use the settings page. Its options are check boxes on the Auto Resolve panel on 4 Create Schedule. None is checked by default, and your choices aren't saved between runs.
