To reuse an earlier roster, register your team for the new season, sign in on your organization's website and open the new team under Manage Rosters. Click Copy Roster, choose the earlier team, tick the people to copy and click Copy. Copy Roster lists only teams you registered yourself.
Applies to: Team managers · All plans (Team Registration plus Roster programs: Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise) · Team Registration, Team Registration plus Youth Roster Registration and Team Registration plus Adult Roster Registration programs
Where: Your organization's website, signed in > Manage Rosters > (your new team) > Copy Roster
Before you start
- Register your team for the new season first. Copy Roster adds people to a team you've already registered; it doesn't register the team.
- Sign in with the account you used to register the earlier team. The list of earlier teams comes from that account.
How to copy your roster
- Go to your organization's website and sign in.
- In the menu on the left, under Manage Rosters, click your new team's name.
- Click Copy Roster.
- In Team Roster, choose the earlier team. Each team is listed by name, season and program, for example "Tigers | 2025 Fall | Fall Soccer".
- Wait for the Players list to appear under Team Roster. It loads after you choose the team and can take a moment.
- Tick each person to copy, or tick the box at the top of the list to select everyone.
- Click Copy.
What you'll see
"The previous roster has been copied." The people you ticked are on your roster with the roles they had before. What happens next depends on the program:
- Team Registration plus Roster programs: each copied player is emailed an invitation to enroll on your new team, just as with Add to Roster, and gets a check mark under Enrolled after they finish. Copied coaches and other staff aren't emailed: click the green Reinvite icon on their row to invite them. A copied coach also doesn't get roster access: click Edit on their row, set Roster Edit to Yes and click Save. It takes effect once they complete enrollment.
- Team Registration programs: copied people are added to your roster right away, with their contact details and any roster fields your organization collects. Nobody is emailed or has to enroll. If your team's Team Site is published, they're added to it too.
If it doesn't work
- There's no Copy Roster button. You haven't registered another team in this organization with the account you're signed in with, or that registration was canceled. Coaches who manage the roster with Roster Edit see Copy Roster only if they registered a team themselves; only the team manager who registered a team can copy its roster. In Team Registration programs, the button also goes away once anyone besides you is on the roster: delete the people you added with the red X, then copy.
- The earlier team isn't in the Team Roster list. The list shows only teams you registered yourself in this organization. A team you were a coach or player on, a team someone else registered, a canceled team registration and a team in a program where team managers don't manage rosters aren't listed. Ask your organization for help with that roster.
- Copy Roster is grayed out. Your roster has reached the maximum, and you'll see "You cannot add any additional players since you have met the maximum number of players for this roster."
- Copy is grayed out after you choose a team. Nobody is on that team's roster.
- "You must select at least one player from the previous roster." Tick at least one person, then click Copy.
- "You cannot add the selected additional players since you will exceed the maximum number of players of (number) for this roster." Tick fewer people. Everyone you tick counts toward the maximum here, coaches included.
- "Could not copy player "(name)" due to age restrictions." Your organization doesn't allow players outside the offering's age range, and that player's date of birth is outside it or wasn't on the earlier roster. Everyone else was copied. If the player belongs on the team, add them with Add to Roster and enter their date of birth, or contact your organization.
Good to know
- The Players list shows everyone still on the earlier roster: coaches and other staff, and players who were invited but never enrolled. Only you are left out. Tick just the people you want.
- Copy doesn't check who's already on your roster, so a person you copy twice is listed twice. Remove the extra row with the red X before they enroll.
- What's copied: names, roles, email addresses, mailing addresses and phone numbers, and in Team Registration plus Roster programs, dates of birth. Enrollments, payments and Roster Edit aren't copied, and the earlier team's roster doesn't change.
- If you set each player's fee (Registration Cost), copied players start at $0.00 and their invitations go out as soon as you copy. Click Edit on each copied player and set their Registration Cost right away, before they register.
- Your organization's admins can copy a roster for you in Team Registration plus Roster programs: on the program's 4 Rosters page they open your team and use Copy Roster, which lists the teams you registered.
- If your organization uses master rosters, Copy Roster is on your team's Master Roster page and works the same way, with two differences: copied coaches are invited too, unless your organization has turned roster invitations off for the program, and the button is grayed out while the roster is locked.
