To change your password, sign in on your organization's website, go to My Account > My Profile and click Edit next to Password. If you've forgotten it, click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page to get a reset link by email. The link works for one hour.
Applies to: Parents, players and other family members with an account on an organization's website · All plans · Signing in on the web
Where: Your organization's website > My Account > My Profile > Password (to change it); Sign In > Forgot your password? (to reset it)
Change your password
- Sign in on your organization's website.
- Go to My Account > My Profile, or click your name at the top of the page.
- Next to Password, click Edit.
- On Change Your Password, type your password in Current Password.
- Type your new password in New Password and again in Confirm New Password.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "Your password has been updated." Use the new password everywhere you sign in to TeamSideline, including the TeamSideline app.
Password rules
- 6 to 15 characters.
- At least one letter and one number. Other special characters are allowed, except <, > and &.
- Passwords are case sensitive.
- The new password must be different from your current one.
Reset a forgotten password
- On your organization's website, click Sign In.
- Click Forgot your password?.
- On Forgot Password, enter the Email Address you used when you registered and click Submit.
- Open the email from TeamSideline and click the reset link within one hour. If you asked more than once, use the newest email.
- On Reset Password, type your new password in Password and Confirm Password, then click Submit.
- Sign in with your email address and the new password.
What you'll see: after step 3, "Thank you. If the email address you entered is associated with TeamSideline, an email with instructions on how to reset your password will be sent." It shows this whether or not the address has an account. The message says the link lasts 2 hours, but the link stops working one hour after you request it. After step 5, a message says your password was updated.
Signed in with a temporary password?
If your organization created your account, its welcome email included a temporary password. After you sign in with it, you see "To change your Temporary Password, click My Profile and then click the Edit button next to the password field." Follow the steps under Change your password, with the temporary password as your Current Password.
If it doesn't work
- "Your password is incorrect. Please try again." What you typed in Current Password isn't your password. If you don't know it, sign out and reset it.
- "The new password you typed is the same as your current password. Please type a new password." Choose a different password.
- "The passwords entered do not match. Please try again." Type the same new password in both boxes.
- "Your password must be at least 6 characters long and a maximum of 15 characters, contain at least one alpha character and one numeric character. It cannot contain the characters "<", ">", or "&"." Choose a password that follows the rules above.
- "The password for this email address has been requested to be reset more than 5 times in the last 24 hours. Please wait a few hours and try again." Use the newest reset email you already have or wait.
- "This password reset request has expired." The link is more than an hour old. Request a new one and use it right away.
- "This password reset request is invalid." That link was already used. Request a new one if you still need it.
- The reset email doesn't arrive. Check your spam and junk folders and try any other email address you might have registered with. An address with no TeamSideline account gets no email and no error.
- "Too many sign in attempts. Click the "Forgot your password?" link below to reset your password." Too many failed tries have blocked sign-in for a while. Completing a reset lifts the block.
Good to know
- One TeamSideline account: your email address and password work on every organization's website that uses TeamSideline, on team sites and in the TeamSideline app, so a change in one place changes it everywhere.
- Type your password instead of pasting it. The sign-in page's Password box holds 15 characters, so a pasted space can cut off the end.
- No one at your organization or at TeamSideline can see your password, so never send it to anyone. If you still can't sign in after a reset, contact your organization with the Contact Us link on its website.
- To change the email address you sign in with, click Edit next to Email Address on My Profile.
- Organization admins: see How to change or reset your admin password.
