To show a league's games on your Team Site, open the Team Site's Events tab, click Manage Linked Schedules and then Find Schedules to Add. Search for your team and its organization, and click the green plus next to your team's schedule. Linked games appear as events and update on their own when the league changes a game or enters a score.
Applies to: Team Site staff (coaches, managers and team parents) and organization admins · All plans · Team Sites
Where: Team Site > Events > Manage Linked Schedules > Find Schedules to Add (admins open a program's Team Sites from Programs > Manage Programs > (program) > 5 Team Sites)
Before you start
- The league must have created the schedule and made it visible: its division's eye icon is on (green or yellow) on Schedules > Leagues & Divisions. Until then, the search can't find it.
- If your organization published your team's schedule to your Team Site from its program, that schedule is already linked. It's listed on Manage Linked Schedules with a grayed-out Delete icon. Link only the schedules you still need, such as games in another division.
Link a league schedule
- Sign in on the TeamSideline Team Sites sign-in page. If you don't have an account yet, click Create a new account.
- On the Teams tab, open your team. If your team doesn't have a Team Site yet, click Create Team to make one.
- Click the Events tab, then Manage Linked Schedules.
- Click Find Schedules to Add.
- Enter at least 3 letters of the Team Name and of the Organization Name, as the league writes them, and click Search. Part of a name is enough.
- Each result shows a team, organization, league, division and schedule type. Click the green plus (Link) on your team's row.
- Repeat for each other schedule your team needs, such as its Playoff, 2nd Half or Practice schedule.
What you'll see: "The schedule has been linked and all the games will be shown on the Events page." The row's icon turns orange ("Schedule already linked"). On the Events tab, staff see an orange link icon ("League game") next to each league game.
Add details to a league game, or remove a schedule
- To add team details to a league game, click its Edit icon on the Events tab. You can set a Meet Time, Reminder, Poll, Staff Notes and Jersey Color. The opponent, date, time and score come from the league.
- To remove a schedule linked by mistake, go to Events > Manage Linked Schedules, click its Delete icon and click OK ("Are you sure you want to delete this schedule link?"). You'll see "The schedule and all associated events have been removed."
- A schedule your organization published to the Team Site can't be removed there: its Delete icon is grayed out, with the note "This schedule link is managed by" and the organization's name.
For organization admins
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs, click the program's name and click 5 Team Sites.
- If the team's Team Site isn't published yet, click its green Publish Team Site icon.
- Click the orange house icon (Open Team Site) next to the team. The Team Site opens in a new tab.
- Link schedules on its Events tab as described above.
Publishing a schedule on 5 Team Sites (for example with "Publish Regular Schedule") links only the games of the team's own division. Games in another division, such as a separate tournament pool-play division, are linked from the opened Team Site with Manage Linked Schedules.
If it doesn't work
- There's no Manage Linked Schedules button. It shows only to staff on this Team Site (Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent, Site Coordinator, Manager or League Administrator), and only while the season is active. An admin who is also on the team's roster, for example as a parent, opens the Team Site as that roster member and sees the parent view; ask the team's coach or manager to link the schedule.
- "Team Name must have at least 3 characters." (or "Team Name is required.", "Organization Name is required." or "Organization Name must have at least 3 characters.") Enter at least 3 characters in both boxes.
- "No results found." The search finds a team only in an active league, in a division whose schedule exists and is visible (for a 2nd Half schedule, the division's 2nd Half eye must be on). Ask the league's admin to create the schedule or make it visible. Also check the spelling, or search with a shorter part of each name. A Practice schedule is found only when the division's Show Practice Section isn't set to Do Not Show.
- Your team isn't in a long list of results. The search shows at most 25 results. Type more of the team or organization name.
- Events from another Team Site can't be found. Find Schedules to Add finds league schedules only. Events a coach added on another Team Site aren't schedules, so add them on each Team Site with Add Event.
- Some games are missing. Upcoming league games show only while the division's eye is on, and only for the weeks the league shows. A game in a TBD time slot appears once the league gives it a real time slot. Games that already have a result always show.
- Games show twice. The same schedule can't be linked twice (Find Schedules to Add shows "Schedule already linked"), so the games are reaching your team twice another way: league games also added with Add Event (delete those events), or two Team Sites for the same team, such as one your organization published and one a coach created. If Manage Linked Schedules lists the same schedule twice, delete the one whose Delete icon isn't grayed out. See the duplicate games article below.
Good to know
- Linked games aren't copies. When the league changes a time or location or enters a score, the Team Site and the TeamSideline app show it.
- Linking adds games only. It doesn't add players or staff to your roster.
- If your organization publishes Team Sites for your league, use that Team Site rather than creating your own for the same team, so families don't get two Team Sites with the same games.
- In the TeamSideline app, the team's Manage Linked Schedules screen has a Search for "publicly available TeamSideline schedules" too.
