To stop getting Team Site reminder emails, set Receive Reminders to Disabled on your Team Site's My Account page, or hide one team to stop only its reminders. Team staff can also turn off the reminder for a single game or event, so it goes to no one on the team.
Applies to: Team Site members (parents, players, Family & Friends) and team staff (coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, managers and site coordinators) · All plans · Team Sites on the web; the setting also covers the TeamSideline app
Where: Team Sites (www.teamsideline.com) > your name at the top > My Account > Receive Reminders; Teams > your team > Events > Edit (pencil) > Reminder
Turn off all your reminder emails
- Sign in to your Team Site on the web.
- Click your name at the top of the page. My Account opens.
- Click the Receive Reminders button so it reads Disabled.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "Your profile has been updated." Reminder emails stop for all your teams. The setting belongs to your TeamSideline account, so it applies in the TeamSideline app too. To get reminders again, set it back to Enabled and save.
Every reminder email ends with "If you prefer to not receive Reminder emails, you can update your TeamSideline Profile to turn off this feature." Its link opens the Team Sites sign-in page, where these steps start.
Stop the reminders from one team only
Hide the team: on your Team Site, click Teams > All Teams, then the team's green eye icon. You stop getting that team's reminder emails and stay on its roster, but the team also leaves your Teams menu and your Team Site calendar. See How to hide or unhide a team, listed below.
Turn off the reminder for one game or event (team staff)
Team staff can stop an event's reminder before it's sent. Nobody on the team gets it then.
- Sign in to your Team Site, click Teams and your team, then Events.
- Click the Edit icon (the pencil) next to the game or event.
- Under Reminder, clear Yes, send email reminder.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: "Event updated." Each date of a recurring event keeps its own reminder setting, so change every date you want to stop. Events your organization shares from its own calendar have no Edit icon and never send reminders.
Turn off the defaults for league games and practices (organization admins)
Reminders for league games and practices on your Team Sites start from Programs > Configurations > Team Sites. Set Game Reminder or Practice Reminder to Off and click Save to stop them on all your Team Sites, except for games or practices whose reminder team staff already changed. Team Site settings explained (Programs > Configurations > Team Sites) has the details.
If it doesn't work
- You turned reminders off and still got one. It may have gone out before you saved. Otherwise, the roster may list a different email address from the one you sign in with: the setting applies only to the TeamSideline account with the roster's address. Ask team staff which address the roster has.
- Someone else in your family still gets reminders. Reminders go to every email address on the roster, and each person turns off their own.
- You've never signed in, and the reminders keep coming. Without an activated TeamSideline account there's no setting to change. Create or activate your account with the email address the reminders come to (the reminder's "Important Note!" has a link), then follow the steps above.
- You follow a team with Family & Friends and get its game reminders. Turn off your own Receive Reminders, or hide the team (it's under F&F Teams on All Teams).
- "The game reminder must be enabled to have a poll." or "The practice reminder must be enabled to have a poll." (admins) Set Game Poll or Practice Poll to No before you turn that reminder off.
Good to know
- Each event's reminder is sent once: 1 to 7 days (24-hour periods) before the start time, or on the day of the event when it's set to 0, just after midnight Pacific time for events that start before 1 PM and after 7 AM Pacific time for later ones. Turning reminders off stops only reminders that haven't gone out yet.
- The attendance poll comes in the reminder email, so an event whose reminder is off sends no poll email.
- Canceled games, and Team Sites that have been archived, don't send reminders. People listed on a team only as League Administrator never get them.
- Receive Reminders covers only these reminder emails. It doesn't stop emails your organization or team staff send: see How unsubscribing works, listed below.
