A Team Site is your team's private home on TeamSideline: its schedule, roster, attendance, files, stats, fees and announcements in one place, on the web and in the TeamSideline app. On the web, each team's pages are tabs across the top of its site, and the menu on the left takes you to everything else, such as your calendar, messages and other teams.
Applies to: Parents, players, coaches and team staff · All plans · Team Sites published by an organization and teams created on TeamSideline, on the web and in the TeamSideline app
Where: Sign in on your organization's website > Team Sites > (your team), or on the TeamSideline Team Sites sign-in page > Teams > (your team), or in the TeamSideline app
Who can see a Team Site
Team Sites are private. Only the team's roster members (players, parents and team staff), the Family & Friends they invite and your organization's admins can open them. Family & Friends get a limited view: no contact details, and no Attendance, Files or Payments pages. You see a team once you sign in with the email address on its roster. When your organization publishes the site, it can email everyone on the roster how to sign in.
The menu on the left
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Home | Your next seven days of activities for all your teams. Games show Home or Visitor, and each event has a Directions link. Team staff see an edit pencil on their own team's events. |
| Calendar | All your teams' events by day, week or month, with games marked Home or Visitor. Filter to one team or one event type, and hover over an event for its details. The link at the bottom switches between normal hours (8 AM to 9 PM) and all 24 hours. Subscribe to this Calendar gives a link for Google Calendar, Outlook or another calendar app. |
| Communications | Send Communication emails your entire team, its staff or specific people, with one attached file of up to about 10 MB. Received and Sent list your messages. |
| Teams | Each team you're on, by name and season, plus Family & Friend Teams you follow. All Teams lists your current, Family & Friends and archived teams, and lets you hide a team. Create Team starts a team of your own. |
| Family & Friends | Invite relatives and friends to follow your teams. |
| Organizations | Opens the website of each organization you're part of. |
| Messages | Messages from TeamSideline, with a count of the ones you haven't read. |
| Help and Sign Out | Help links to this Knowledge Base, online training and TeamSideline Support. Click your name at the top of the page to edit your profile. |
A team's pages
Open a team from Teams (or from Team Sites on your organization's website) to see its tabs. "Staff" here means the team's Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, Team Parent and Site Coordinator.
| Page | What it's for | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Team Home | The team photo, current announcements, links, the game schedule with results, and the players and staff. Click an event or a person for details. | Everyone who can open the site |
| Roster | Staff, and players with their parents listed under them. Click a name for that person's details. Staff add and edit people (as your organization allows) and can download a Print View (PDF) or a Player Export. | Everyone; Family & Friends see names only |
| Events | Every team event with its Date, Time, Event Name, Event Type and Location. A location's name opens its More Info page or a map. Staff use Add Event and Manage Linked Schedules. Subscribe to this Calendar gives a link to this team's events. | Everyone |
| Attendance | Planned or actual attendance for each event that has an attendance poll, one row per player. Players and parents answer for themselves; staff can set anyone's. | Roster members |
| Files | Up to five files (10 MB each) that staff post for the team to download. A link to your organization's public downloads can appear here too. | Roster members |
| Stats | Stats by game and by player. Staff use Stat Setup and Enter Stats. | Everyone |
| Payments | Fees & Payments: up to three team fees and who has paid them, as recorded by staff. It doesn't take online payments. | Roster members |
| Announcements | Staff post announcements, which show on Team Home. | Staff |
| Links | Staff add web links (a title and an address starting with http:// or https://), which show on Team Home under the announcements. | Staff |
| Pictures | Staff add the team photo for Team Home, with Alt Text that describes it. | Staff |
| Edit Team | The team's name and settings. | Staff of teams created on TeamSideline, not of Team Sites your organization publishes |
When a team's season is over and its site is archived, the staff pages disappear and nothing on the site can be changed.
On the web and in the app
- The TeamSideline app has the same team information: schedule, roster, attendance polls, announcements, files, fees and stats. Get it free on the App Store or Google Play and sign in with the same email address and password.
- Team chat is only in the app; the website has no chat. Chat sends photos, not videos, so share a video as a link.
- The roster's Print View and Player Export are on the website.
If it doesn't work
- A page in the list isn't there. Announcements, Links and Pictures are for staff; Attendance, Files and Payments are for roster members, so Family & Friends don't see them; Edit Team shows only on teams created on TeamSideline; and an archived site hides the staff pages.
- Team Home says "No staff members to manage this team site:" with a Promote Me button. The team has no staff. A signed-in roster member can click Promote Me to become the team's Site Coordinator, a staff role that can manage the site and add other staff. It doesn't make you a coach or manager. If someone else should run the site, ask your organization.
- You can't delete a game on Events. League games and your league's calendar events come from your organization, so their red X is grayed out. Contact your organization about them.
- Names scroll out of view on Attendance. The web Attendance page doesn't keep the Name column in place. Zoom your browser out to see more dates at once, or use the app.
- "There is a maximum of 5 files per team site." Delete a file with its red X before adding another.
- "The file you have chosen to upload exceeds 10 MB, which is the maximum file size we can store on the site." Make the file smaller, or share it as a link instead.
Good to know
- Event times show exactly as they were entered and aren't converted to your time zone: a 9 PM game shows as 9 PM wherever you are.
- A person's photo is added from the Roster: click their Edit icon and add a Photo. Staff can do this for anyone, and members for themselves, as your organization allows.
- On a Team Site your organization publishes, Team Home shows a welcome announcement for its first 21 days, and a "Got a question?" note with a link to contact the organization.
- Admins open a team's site from Programs > Manage Programs > (program) > 5 Team Sites with the team's house icon (Open Team Site), which opens it in a new tab.
