Parents and players can't add themselves to a team's roster. On a team run by a league or organization, you're added when you register for the program on the organization's website, or when you accept your team manager's roster invitation; contact the organization if you're missing. On a team that a coach created on TeamSideline.com, ask the coach or another team staff member to add you.
Applies to: Parents and players (not organization admins) · Organization teams and standalone team sites · Web and the TeamSideline app
Where: Organization teams: your organization's website > Sign In. Standalone teams: TeamSideline.com > Teams > (team) > Roster (team staff only)
Teams run by a league or organization
If you registered and paid on an organization's website, the team belongs to that organization. Only the organization, or in some programs the team manager and coaches with roster access, can put you on its roster. Coaches can't register you or move you to another team.
You registered a player (or yourself) for a program
- Register for the program on the organization's website.
- Wait for the organization to assign players to teams.
- When the organization publishes your team's site, you're on its roster. Sign in on the organization's website, or in the TeamSideline app, with the email address on your account to see it.
If you registered but aren't on a team yet, or you're on the wrong team, contact the organization through its Contact Us page.
Your team manager registered the team
- Ask your team manager, or a coach with roster access, to add you to the team's roster. You'll get a "Roster Invitation" email from the organization.
- Click the link in the email.
- Sign in, or create an account, with the email address the invitation was sent to. For a youth player, that's the parent or guardian who registers them.
- Complete the enrollment.
Team managers can add players and coaches. Other staff, such as an assistant coach or team parent, are added by the organization.
Teams created on TeamSideline.com (standalone teams)
Only the team's staff can add people: the coach, assistant coach, manager, team parent or site coordinator.
- Ask a staff member to add you on the team's Roster with your email address. A parent of a young player is added as a Parent of that player. There's no substitute role, so a substitute player is added as a Player or Other.
- Watch for an email Communication from the team. If you aren't registered, it includes a note with a link to register.
- Register at TeamSideline.com (Sign In > Create a new account) with the same email address the staff member entered, then click Activate Your Account in the email you receive.
- Sign in. The team appears under Teams.
Family and friends who aren't on the roster
Grandparents, other relatives and friends don't need to be on the roster. A registered team member can invite them on the Family & Friends page: enter their First Name, Last Name and Email, then click Add. TeamSideline emails them a link to join, and they can then sign in and see information such as game locations, times and directions. Family & Friends isn't for players, parents or staff on the roster, because it doesn't give full team access.
If it doesn't work
- You're on the roster but don't see the team. Sign in with the email address that's on the roster. On an organization team, that's the email address on your family account. If you use more than one address, try the others, or ask the team staff or the organization which address they have.
- "The email address you have entered is being used. If this is your correct email address, click the Sign In link. If you do not remember your password then use the Forgot Password link on the Sign In page." You already have a TeamSideline account. Sign in with it instead of registering again.
- "This roster invitation is for a different user. Please click the roster invitation link again and sign in with the following email address:" You're signed in with another account. Sign out, click the invitation link again and sign in with the email address shown.
- "Your roster invitation is no longer valid. If you have questions, contact your Team Manager." Contact your team manager.
- Your coach's Add To Roster button is grayed out. On an organization team, the organization has turned off roster changes on the team site. The coach sees "Note: The Add To Roster button has been disabled by (organization). Please use the (organization) website Contact Us page to request changes to your roster."

This article is for parents and players. If you're an organization admin, put players and coaches on teams with Assign To Roster on the program's 4 Rosters page. For Team Registration plus Roster programs, use Place Order > Add to Roster on the customer's account, or invite the player from the team's roster. See the articles below.
