To give signed-in members a Store link on their site map, go to Content > Configurations > Sidebar Links, add a section with Display Location set to User Site Map, then add a Page link to Store in that section. The link is a shortcut only: anyone can browse your Store, and shoppers sign in when they check out.
Applies to: Org admins · All plans · Legacy content editor
Where: Content > Configurations > Sidebar Links
Before you start
Your Store must already be set up, with items on Programs > Store/Donations Setup and the Store page in Content > Configurations > Site Pages. The link's Page list only offers pages that are in Site Pages. To set up the Store, see How to set up an online Store (Legacy content editor).
Step 1: Add a section for the members' site map
- Go to Content > Configurations > Sidebar Links.
- Click Add Section.
- In Section Name, type the heading members will see above the link, such as Store (up to 25 characters).
- In Display Location, choose User Site Map.
- Check Visible.
- Click Add.
What you'll see: "The Section was successfully created." The section is in the list, with User Site Map under Display Location.
Step 2: Add the Store link to the section
- Click Add Link.
- In Link Type, choose Page.
- In Link Name, type the words members will click, such as Store or Team Gear (up to 30 characters).
- In Page, choose Store.
- In Assigned Section, choose the section you added in Step 1.
- Check Visible ("Check to show link in Assigned Section.").
- Leave Open in New Window at No, or choose Yes to open the Store in a new browser tab.
- Click Add.
What you'll see: "The link was successfully created." Expand the section in the list to see the link under it.
Members who sign in on your website see your section, with the Store link under it, on their site map: the page they land on after signing in, next to groups such as My Account. To check it, sign in on your website with a family account and click the link. It opens your Store page.
If it doesn't work
- Store isn't in the Page list. The Store page isn't in Site Pages. On Content > Configurations > Site Pages, right-click Menu Pages, point to Add Standard Page, click Store and click Save. Then come back to Sidebar Links and choose Page in Link Type again. Organizations without registration don't have a Store page.
- "Assigned Section is required." Add the section first (Step 1), then choose it in Assigned Section.
- "You must select a Page to add." or "You must enter a Link Name." Choose Store in Page and type a Link Name.
- "Section Name is required." or "Display Location is required." Fill in both before you click Add.
- Members don't see the link. Check that the section and the link are both visible: their eye icons are green. Click a red eye to show it. Also check that the section's Display Location is User Site Map. Members see the site map only after they sign in.
- The link shows on your public pages instead. The section's Display Location is Left, Right, Bottom or Split Display. Click the section's Edit icon (pencil), choose User Site Map and click Save.
- You can't open Sidebar Links. Your admin role doesn't include it. Ask an admin who manages your website to add the link.
Good to know
- Shoppers don't need to sign in to browse your Store. When someone who isn't signed in goes to check out, they see "Please sign in to complete your enrollment or order." The site map link doesn't hide the Store from the public; it gives members who are already signed in a quick way back to it.
- There's no guest checkout for the Store. The Guest Checkout setting on Programs > Configurations > Store/Donations applies to the Donations storefront only.
- Drag sections and links to change their order. The eye icon hides or shows a section or link, and the red X deletes it.
- The same steps add other shortcuts to the members' site map: your Donations page (Link Type Page), a file (Download), an Entry Form, a web address (URL), or Contact Us, Schedules or Boundary Lookup (Features).
- Display Location Admin Site Map puts a section on your admins' Home page instead of the members' site map.
- If your website uses Editor 2.0, add the section and link on Content > Configurations > Site Links instead. It has the same Add Section and Add Link fields, and its Display Location is User Site Map or Admin Site Map.
