Add, move or change a home page section
- Go to Content > Configurations > Home Page Layout. Your sections are listed in the order they appear, under Home Page Item.
- To add one, click Add Component, choose it in Component and click Add. The list offers Calendar Items, News & Links, Page Text, Programs, Sponsors, Game Scroller, Find Team Schedule, Image Rotator, Photo Gallery, Score Scroller, Split Display and Tournament Program, depending on your site's layout and modules. Sections already on your page aren't offered again.
- To move a section, drag its row up or down. The new order is saved when you drop it.
- To change a section's settings, click its Edit icon (pencil). Depending on the section, choose the Image Rotator or Photo Gallery to show, or, for Split Display, the Left Home Page Section, Right Home Page Section and Split Percentage.
- Click Save. You'll see "The Page Layout has been updated."
On the Minimalist layout with Control Background set to Stretched (Content > Configurations > Site Layout), the edit page also has Background Type (Default, Image or Color), Padding Top and Padding Bottom (0, 15 or 30 pixels) and Show Side Padding. Set Show Side Padding to No to make the section fill the width of the screen.
Remove a section
Only TeamSideline staff can delete a section from Home Page Layout. Contact TeamSideline Support and say which section to remove. To hide the Game Scroller yourself, set Show Gadget to No under Content > Configurations > General > Game Scroller Gadget.
Show a splash page
- Go to Content > Splash Page Edit.
- Set Enabled? to Yes.
- To stop showing it automatically, pick a date in Show Until Day/Time and a time in End Time. Leave both empty to show it until you turn it off.
- Build the message in the editor below: click text to change it, or drag in blocks with text, pictures and links.
- Click Save. You'll see "Splash Page updated."
What visitors see: a pop-up with your organization's name and your message, the first time they open your website in a browser session. It shows again after they close and reopen the browser, until the Show Until time in your organization's time zone. A time that has already passed keeps it from showing. Clear Page Contents empties the message.
If it doesn't work
- "Component is required." Choose a section in Component before you click Add.
- A section isn't in the Component list. It's already on your page, or your site's layout or modules don't include it.
- There's no delete icon on Home Page Layout. That's expected: only TeamSideline staff can remove sections.
- The edit page has no Background Type or padding settings. They appear only on the Minimalist layout with Control Background set to Stretched.
- "Split Display must have both left and right home page sections selected." Choose both sections, then save.
- "To use Show Until Day/Time, both the date and time must be filled out." Fill in both, or clear both.
- The splash page doesn't appear. Enabled? is No, the Show Until time has passed, or you've already seen it in this browser session. Close the browser and open your website again to check.
- A section is on Home Page Layout but not on your website. It has nothing to show yet: for example, no news items with Show on Home Page, no sponsors with a logo, or Show Gadget set to No.
Good to know
- Changes show on your website as soon as you save or drop a row.
- Websites built with Editor 2.0 are edited in the Site Editor instead; this article covers the legacy content editor.
