Overview
If you are trying to register yourself or your child for a program and you keep getting a Login Failed error — even after using the Forgot Password link — this article walks you through the most common causes and how to fix them.
This is one of the most common registration roadblocks. In almost every case the problem is one of three things: a password that wasn't typed in correctly, signing in on the wrong portal, or an account that uses a different email address than the one you're entering.
Step 1: Reset your password the right way
Resetting your password usually fixes login problems, but only if you enter the new password exactly as issued.
- On the sign-in page, click the Forgot Password link.
- Enter the email address associated with your account and submit the request.
- Open the password reset email and follow the link to set a new password.
- When you log in, type your password in manually. Do not copy and paste it, because copying can include hidden spaces that cause the login to fail.
- Watch for capitalization — passwords are case-sensitive.
Step 2: Make sure you're on the correct sign-in page
You must sign in at your organization's website (for example, the league's own web address), not a generic page. Use the same site where you started the registration. If you have a link to the sign-in page, use that link directly.
Step 3: Confirm you're using the right email address
A very common cause of repeated login failures is that the account exists under a different email address than the one you are entering, or the email was entered incorrectly when the account was first created. If the password reset email never arrives:
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Try any other email addresses you may have used.
- If you created the account recently with a typo in your email, the account may need to be corrected before you can sign in.
Step 4: If it still won't work, contact support
If you have tried the steps above and still cannot log in, contact TeamSideline support (or your league administrator) for help. To resolve it quickly, please include:
- The name on the account.
- The email address you are trying to log in with.
- Your organization or league name and website.
- A description of what happens (for example, the exact error message).
Support can verify the account, correct the email if needed, and reset your password to a temporary password. After they reset it, sign in with that temporary password (typed manually) and then change it to one you'll remember using the steps in How do I change my password?
