After your organization signs up and pays its TeamSideline quote, you send your logo and a few details, TeamSideline builds your site in about 4 business days, and an onboarding specialist trains you in one or two meetings. Onboarding usually takes 30 to 60 days and is done when your registration or schedules are live.
Applies to: New customers' admins, treasurers and billing contacts · All plans (Core, Enhanced, Elite, Enterprise) · Registration and scheduling-only sites
Where: Emails from TeamSideline, then Admin Sign In on your new site
The steps
- Send your organization's mailing address when TeamSideline's sales team asks for it. It's used for your site and your quote.
- Pay your quote. Onboarding starts once it's paid.
- Send what your site needs: your logo, attached to the email rather than pasted into it, with a transparent background (a .png or .eps file is best, and a .jpg works); any high-resolution action photos you'd like on your site (otherwise stock photos are used); and, for a registration site, the name, email address and phone number of your finance contact, usually your treasurer, who sets up card payments.
- TeamSideline builds your site. The target is about 4 business days after your logo and mailing address arrive.
- You get an email that your site is ready (the Site Operational email). It gives your site's address and how to sign in, links to the new admin training for your kind of site, and has a link to book your first onboarding meeting.
- Go to Admin Sign In on your site and enter your email address. For your first password, click "Forgot your password?" and follow the email you get. TeamSideline never emails you a password.
- Book your first onboarding meeting. In it you learn to set up registration (or scheduling, on a scheduling-only site), and you go over card payments and your domain.
- Your finance contact completes the Payrix merchant application. TeamSideline Support sends it as soon as it has the finance contact's name and email address, without waiting for your site. See How to complete the Payrix merchant application.
- Choose your domain (below).
- Book a second meeting for rostering, scheduling or any other questions.
- Open your registration or post your schedules. Onboarding is complete when they're live, the sample content on your site has been replaced and, for a registration site, card payments are set up.
After onboarding, email support@teamsideline.com with any question.
Your domain
Your site starts on a TeamSideline web address. In your first meeting, you choose one of these:
- Keep the TeamSideline address.
- Use a domain your organization already owns. TeamSideline Support sends you the settings to change where the domain is registered, and connects it to your site.
- Have TeamSideline buy a domain for you, or take over the one you have. One such domain is included on the Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise plans; on Core, or for a second domain, there's a yearly fee.
If you're moving from another website, copy the pages and files you want to keep before your domain moves to TeamSideline (files can go in Content > Downloads), because your old website can't be reached at that address afterward. Then tell TeamSideline Support you're ready to move the domain.
What you'll see
- Your site, at its address from the Site Operational email, with your logo and sample content to replace.
- After you sign in, the admin site's Home page and side menu. See New admin training: how to sign in and navigate Home and the side menu.
- Follow-up emails and calls from TeamSideline until your meetings are booked and your site is live.
- Invoice and payment emails, which go to the admins with the Billing role. A new admin gets every role, including Billing.
If it doesn't work
- No Site Operational email after about 4 business days. Check your spam folder and that TeamSideline has your logo and mailing address, then email support@teamsideline.com.
- The password email doesn't arrive. Use the email address TeamSideline set up as your admin, check your spam folder, and try "Forgot your password?" again. If you already had a TeamSideline account under that address, for example as a parent, your existing password works.
- "Credit Card processing is not approved for this account. Please contact support@teamsideline.com." You saved Programs > Configurations > General with Enable Credit Cards? set to Yes before TeamSideline finished setting up card payments for your site. Set it back to No, with another payment method on, and save. Turn it on once TeamSideline Support tells you your Payrix account is connected.
Good to know
- Email support@teamsideline.com rather than one person, so whoever is available can help.
- Never send a password, bank details or other private information by email. If TeamSideline needs documents, Support sends you a secure link.
- There's no separate practice site. To try something out, set it up on your own site, for example a test division with test teams, and delete it when you're done.
- Your new site is built in Editor 2.0, where you edit your website at Content > Site Editor. If your organization already has a TeamSideline website on the legacy content editor, moving it to Editor 2.0 is a separate project: see How to move your website to Editor 2.0: steps, timeline and what transfers.
